I'm actually not convinced this is a negative for ISD. Coach D was great value added in terms of being willing to discuss Xs and Os with people, and Power Hour. But it's crazy the amount of people who cancelled their subs because of his personality.

He also didn't do "chalk talks" like Sean Mele did. His recruit breakdowns were OK. As were his big boards.

I think you can pretty much get anyone who has been a GA at a college program to do a better job, but those people are actually more rare than one would think.

Same. I never had a single issue with him. But man... some of the posts on ISD are straight "THANK GOD HE IS GONE" style and Mike Frank actually had to ask people to chill/lock threads. I guess the more frequent posters over there had some issues with his attitude.

I saw Mike's thread, but I thought it might've just been an attempt to prevent people from goading him into saying something bad about Coach D.

new rivals site is horrible for viewing on a PC.

ok for the iPhone...maddening on a PC.

guess they wont pay the extra to format for both.

gonna loose subscribers over there b/c of this IMO

Jim Heckman out at Scout, product team quits en masse

Scout has been racked by major financial problems, especially in the spending department. Case in point, they grabbed Sampson, Prister, Brown and kept Anna and O'Malley (with a few others) and there's just no way they are generating enough revenue to pay this much talent.

Add in the (apparent) massive instability from the ownership group and corporation above the team sites and this isn't good.

It'll be interesting to see how this shakes out.

It's not the first time Heckman has fucked over his sites. He created skimmed off ad revenue on other recruiting sites in the past. Pure scumbag.
