Made steak confit with a couple of New York strips. Did olive oil, garlic, and rosemary. Once it hit 120 internal, I let it rest for 10 and then did a quick sear. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had.

Ketchup... how do you all use it if you do at all??

My oldest daughter continues to prove what a failure of a parent I am by smothering everything in ketchup,... steak, tacos, burritos, and chicken wings... it's insane.

I use ketchup for potatoes and burgers. And that's just about it. If potatoes are involved at all I prob put some ketchup on it and I like ketchup with my burger. Oh, and the boxed mac n cheese I doctor up with hot sauce and ketchup a lil bit... I'd never with real Mac.

I use ketchup for burgers (though sometimes I like to use other fixings and don't use it) and potatoes like you. Sometimes I will add it to meatloaf too. Fried pierogis with ketchup isn't bad either (but again potatoes haha).

I cringe when I hear stories of people using ketchup on steaks...

Ketchup flavored potato chips is one of the few things Canada has gotten right.

Now it’s replaced ketchup for at least chicken and sometimes red meat if it’s treated like Shit before it gets to the plate (mom!!). Once Chick Fil A started selling their CFA sauce the kids use that in place of ketchup on things like potatoes.

Mac and Cheese isn’t Mac n cheese in our house unless it has a splash of something spicy. When we make it at home we add fresh Hatch green chile, might even add some bacon. But if we are out some franks is fine.

They have the only greens I’ll eat from a restaurant though,… I make killer greens and cornbread and swear off most all others. Cracker Barrel’s greens are pretty good imo tho

I like ketchup in moderation. It has its place for sure. Plus its great in other sauces or as a hidden ingredient in big meaty dishes.

I will say the older I get the less I like eating regular French's style mustard. Whole grain, dijon, or spicy brown mustard are what I reach for 99% of the time these days. I think the only time I really want the neon yellow mustard is for burgers and oscar meyer-style hotdogs.

I only use mustard in only one scenario,… hot dogs. A good dog to me is mustard and onions. If I use mustard for anything else I can’t think of it currently
