I’d prob go legit street tacos, asada,… rice beans, Tapatio, and fried ice cream for dessert,… though I’d ask for Salma Hayek first just to see,…

Are you not going to tell us if the pies were any good???

FYI I will head your way in September for the apple pie 😁
Both were good but the blackberry came out a little better.

Just follow the aroma!

Tienda Mexicana El Puerto & Taqueria

1035 S Keystone Ave. Next to the liquor store on the corner of Prospect & Keystone.
This place is delicious. Inexpensive too…massive extra steak burrito with a side of rice and beans was only $8.50. The in-house made hot sauces are were both on point. A little bit out of the way for me but was well worth it. I’ll be back. Appreciate the referral.

You know I wouldn’t steer you wrong. Next time try the chorizo tacos. They make them with soft corn tortillas. BOOM!

Tried this new seafood place by my house the other day…Caplingers. Their fried catfish is really good.

I’ve made this trip/have had the mega fat burritos 3 times since last Sunday. True story.

Rough area but whatever. Not taking a date there. I actually grew up 2 streets over at Emerson and Prospect.

A couple posters thought I was serious about hiding my verde recipe in pm,… so,… be warned, this is NOT salsa for the weak… but it’s BOMB salsa.

-Five tomatillos, rinsed well.
-One habanero
-Four dried Chile de arbols
-three garlic gloves
-Handful of cilantro
-quarter white onion
-quarter cup water
-teaspoon salt

Take the arbols and remove the seeds by pulling off the stem and tapping the pepper until the seeds fall out. Discard the seeds.

Take the tomatillos, habanero and arbols and boil them in a pot of water. You’ll want to stir the tomatillos and try flipping them so they boil and color evenly. Once it reaches a full boil immediately turn it off and strain the tomatillos and peppers. DO NOT over boil/cook them,… it’ll make them way too bitter.

Add the other ingredients to a blender and top it all off with the boiled tomatillos and peppers and blend well.

Enjoy.

Very similar ingredients/proportions to my verde.
But I prefer to broil (or char on the grill) my tomatillos, garlic, and onion. I like the roasty toasty notes. Sometimes I'll toss in a half a roasted poblano too, just for some more smoky notes.

If you had a spirit animal, it would be a blonde girl named Brittanie that couldn’t figure out how many scarves to wear on her way to Starbucks.

Spirit animal??? That’s literally my name and you described me perfectly
Halloween captain crunch is quite enjoyable. It’s just hard to replace my standard breakfast of adderol, nicorette, and some form of caffeine.

Trying to muster the energy to get a monster burrito. That’s one bad thing about not living in the ghetto any longer. I grew up two streets over at Prospect (Terrace) and Emerson.

Wife is making bacon wrapped meatloaf tonight. She's cooking, so I'm fine with getting a night off. It's her first time making it, so that should be neat.
