Grand Marnier. Feeling old AF, especially sippin' on Gra Ma. Still good though.

Never a bad time to have this. Ever. I recently picked up a peach version of this. Very good compared to the normal.

My wife bought me two old fashion glasses etched with interlocking ND's and a bottle of Old Forester 1920 Prohibition

after a very long day including a flight and a train ride, enjoying a bottle of pinot noir while chillin' watching the new season of Peaky Blinders..... miller light with my dearly departed father is the tradition, so will likely have a beer or two with his ashes when the bottle is empty.

cheers all!

Got a care pkg of Belching Beaver in from Vista.

Phantom Bride IPA
Swerve City IPA
Mosaic DIPA
Batch No. 5 Blackberry Sour
Hoppy Hoppy Night NE IPA

Batch No.5 is limited release. I don't like Sours in general but this was very good. Hearty, not just liquid sweetarts. 6.8% for a little kick. Nice looking bottles too.

With the Hoppy Hoppy Night... I usually prefer WC-IPA over NE-IPA but this thing screams Nelson hops which are the absolute best in my book. 7%. Can is killer too.

The Mosaic DIPA is a passer but I don't care for DIPA's besides Hangar's Double Betty and That Brewery's Batch 98.

Belching Beaver Peanut Butter Milk Stout is fantastic. It's like drinking a Nutter Butter wafer -- the original version.

That's an awesome list. Very jealous.

My friends and I split the Merc Machine bomber; it was very good, but probably a little past prime. Luckily it was only about 2 months old. I've got a bomber of Backwoods Bastard, do you suggest I hang onto it or dig in?

Post Christmas, I've had some cash burning a hole in my pocket. So I decided to buy some BCBS, one for aging and the other to have fresh as I've never had it this young. With my fantasy winnings, I might need to treat myself really nice.

I am glad that you enjoyed Merc Machine. As far as Founders Backwoods Bastard, that is tough. My father-in-law and I finished a 4 pack this weekend and it is drinking wonderfully right now (unlike last years version that needed to sit for a bit). On the other hand I have aged previous Backwoods Bastard and it will age very nicely. I would lean slightly towards drink it somewhat soon (New Years Eve, during the Citrus Bowl, etc).

Right now a pour of Highland Park Valkyrie. Underwhelmed by it but it is better than a few days ago. Hopefully it just needs some air.

Brazos Valley is becoming a pretty decent local brewery. Their B Sides series is pretty decent, but their standard stuff is both great value at 6.99/sixer and pretty yummy overall. The Citra IPA is probably my new go-to, but I gotta try the other stuff like the tres leches stout

2017 BCBS. Not as hot as I thought it'd be.

Been hitting so many new beers on this Texas trip that it's hard to keep them straight but damn... had an Odell Brewing Freik Sour today...

That's an all timer... fan-freikin- tastic.

Wish you were coming much farther east, bud. I highly doubt you'll see Live Oak out there, but try one if you do. The Saint Arnold Christmas Ale is pretty solid too.

Nope. Chocolate for miles.

No joke. I figured this would run at least a little hot due to the ABV, but it's really just chocolate. I'm gonna compare my 2015 and 2017 one day, and see what the benefit is for aging these, but I might just stop doing that altogether and target others.

Also, in my hometown is a liquor store that does not get a ton of traffic for beer nerds. I saw a bottle of Collaboration not Litigation there and am really regretting not pulling the trigger on it

Hi Sign is a local brewery with some good stuff that I haven't seen in many bars around here. To my surprise the WF draft shack has 4 new beers I haven't tried, including 2 NE IPAs. I Can't Even Wait is the one I chose after small tastes, and I gotta be honest. I think I just don't care too much for the NE style. It's not nearly as juicy as I thought it'd be from the hype. Hell the first Fresh Squeezed by Deschutes I had was juicier I thought. This is still solid, but the beers I'm having in this style aren't spectacular.

512 Brewing's oatmeal coffee stout is very good though.

Very nice Oahu.
Did Dom last night, and a few nice Pinots. How was the Riesling?

Went old school tonight. Took family to our yearly Christmas/NewYear's trip to FL, which this year includes my mom and her ~90 year old sister (my mom 72). Mom drinks Beam and Cola every once in a while, so went along for the ride. Used to love the stuff in my college days. Walgreen has Jim Beam handles 2 for 1, plus 2x 12 packs of coke. That's a bargain so my snobby desire for a 25 year old Macallan took a back seat.

Riesling was nice. Lost a bit of its fruit, since it's getting a little older. It had mostly a light pineapple taste, similar to a lot of kabinett Rieslings. It's the oldest Riesling I've tried, that wasn't in the Trockenbeerenauslese range. I wanted to age it, just to try an older Riesling.

I had that bottle in my collection for about 13 years. I think I purchased it in 2004, along with the 2002 Graacher Himmelreich Auslese. That one was fantastic, 12 years ago.

Not gonna knock Beam and Coke, especially if it keeps Mom happy.

Picked up some Flying Dog Mango Habenero IPA... because fvk it, ND is as 'screw the pooch' as ever and I might as well ignore it all and just drink something exotic.
