A little Elijah Craig while doing prep for dinner. This has gone down hill since they removed the age statement.

Enjoying a MKE Louie's Demise Amber Ale.

It's from Milwaukee. My palate isn't all that advanced, but it was a penny sale so I figured a nice cheap craft beer for the draft sounded good.

Knee Deep Hop Shortage.

Damn. I know what caused the shortage

So do you like it?

Oddly I find Simtra and Hoparillo from them more hoppy.

I just had a Lagunitas Lucky 13 but I will have a Knee Deep Hoparillo after I take one of my kids to their baseball practice.

I do, but I'm not always in the mood for hoppy beer. It was way less overpowering than I thought. Really solid, I'd say. Not spectacular. It's lacking depth, though I do love the bitter hoppy aftertaste.

My first batch of home brew, an American Pale Ale. I'll be honest, I can't believe how good it is.

That's awesome. The closest I ever came to home brew was a garbage bag filled with fruit cups and ketchup packets that sat in the corner of my kitchen for 6 months.

Happy Dark Lord Day:

The two on the left are BA Dark Lords. They are selling anywhere from $300-450 on the secondary market. For that price, you better be drinking with Jesus if you crack it.

That's a stock photo i saw online... unless I saw Steelie's photo by chance.

My two bottles are secured of standard DL. My buddy scored a BA DL today at the event, I asked how it was but he's saving it for a wedding next month.

Also for all the Midwest guys: There is a Brewfest that was held today at the Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City, IN. All the other brewers look like they were trying to throw some shade on 3 Floyd's. From what i can see on Facebook, it was a great event. Here's the list of the brewers.

Ballast Point Sea Monster. Been sitting on this one for 6 months or so. Kind of eh, for me. Not an oatmeal stout but has those characteristics.

Not a stock photo, but not mine. A buddy went today, and that was his haul. He said lots of unclaimed tickets today because of weather and they actually had a surplus at the end.
