Have you had SUCKS? If not you should try it.
Sucks is my favorite laguanitas by far...It's all gone right now here!

Chimay
Blue, white or red?
Breakfast Stout .
Founders is jolly good
Blue because that's what they had at Costco. Really like the Red as well, never had the white yet. The Red and Blue are each probably in my top 10 beers, are you a Chimay fan?
I think that Blue is very good and the Red is good while I am not a fan of White.
What other Belgian beers have you had?
Have you had Trappistes Rochefort 10? or St. Bernardus Abt 12? Those are probably my two favorite Belgian beers.
Have you had any of Unibroue's beers such as La Terrible or Trois Pistoles?
Glass of Sangiovese. The bottle was given to me and it's not awful. That's a win in my book.

That is always a positive with a bottle that is a gift.
What kind of wine do you normally like?
Last night I had
2012 Cave de Roquebrun Saint-Chinian Terrasses de Cabrio GSM 2012. A nice GSM blend from France that I got from Costco for $10. It either needs to be decanted for 1-2 hours or another year or two of aging as it was really closed at first but was already improving by the second glass. Going to use a little to make a red wine reduction for some pork tenderloin tomorrow and drink the rest.
I normally am a dry red kinda guy. However, since I'm mostly a newbie at this, I try basically anything available and try not to be too picky. The Sangiovese was a bit more acidic than I was hoping but still much better than expected.
I can never get enough Chianti Classico. I think I would give up Guinness before I gave up Classico.
I also love to cook with wine. WC Fields put it best, "I cook with wine, sometimes I even add it to the food."

Is that legal on the Left Coast? My wife makes really good hard apple cider from scratch...
That is the best way to go. I love red wine (Cali Cabs, Bordeaux (left or right bank), Rhone blends, Merlot (if from a good region), most Italian wines, Zins, Malbec, etc) though lately I have been working my way through some Spanish wines (mostly Rioja and some Monastrell).
My wife and I only drink reds... mostly Merlots... I'm curious on your thoughts here, Tisdale.
Tisdale is basically a two buck chuck out here but much better than the average TBC... and we both really like their Merlot especially. Ever had? (Again, keeping in mind it's a 'cheap' wine).
