Good stuff. Most nights I settle in with a beer or cocktail and read for 1-2 hours while I wait for my two older boys to fall asleep (if I don't post up near their bedrooms, they don't pass out until an obscenely late hour). I used to spend that time here with you degenerates, but I felt like I could be using that time more productively. So I've been reading as much moral philosophy as I can get my hands on.
My wife has been in India on business over the last week, so the last few days have been rough as the lone parent. I don't normally have multiple bombers of top notch beer in my fridge, but I needed a little alcoholic therapy this week.
And looking back on my post, it probably conveys a lot more chin-stroking than I had intended. I only mentioned it because we've discussed
theodicy here before ("
God. Is He truly good?"), and Lewis' "The Problem of Pain" is the best defense of theodicy I've ever read. It comes highly recommend it for anyone interested in the subject.
