Got a vitamix over Christmas (if you're into cooking, it's very much worth it. I can say it's now a 100% staple in my house and we use it at least once per day) and realized last night that my recent Tiki fixation (rum, coconut milk, simple syrup, limes) mixed with my new breakfast smoothie habit (frozen pineapple) means that I naturally had on hand all the ingredients and equipment for a damn good pina colada. Garnished with a luxardo cherry.

Russian River Supplication. This beer is a cask conditioned wild ale masterpiece. A bit of wood sorrel with some leather on the nose. Tart but not overbearing. Subtle cherry pie flavor on the finish. As good as it gets.

Yep,... maybe a bit too much pineapple if I were to critique it but really good all told. We bottle our pomegranate habanero IPA tomorrow.

Circle Doppel Blur, an imperial Hef. It's too bad that Circle exists in the same town as Live Oak, as damn near everybody sleeps on their Hef & wheat beers, which are nearly as good as LO

I haven't had a Moosehead in decades, but that was our beer of choice when my gang & I were in our early to mid twenties. We drank a lot of Moosehead while water skiing during the 80's. You're right, it's hard to tell it from Heineken.

So for our next batch of home brews we were going to do a PB&J stout and agave ale... today I'm thinking of changing it up.

a coffee and doughnut stout and doing the PB&J as an amber... we are also floating around a french toast amber...

thoughts?
