Thoughts? That's one of the few Unibroue beers I haven't tried yet.
I really enjoyed this beer. I first tasted it a a Mighigan Liquor Control Commission Party, and like all tastings I've been to I hung around at my favorite table a little too long. The La Terrible was my table that night. I ended up ordering a couple hundred dollars worth. Good memories.....
La Terrible by Unibroue
Real good. Unibroue knows their Belgian StrobeerDarks. If you like the style (and I think you do!), try it. I've only had a few of their beers but the ones ive had, have been top drawer. The fruits are very prevalent in this beer and at 10.5 abv, packs a punch.
I would love to see what a couple hundred dollars of La Terrible looks like!
Finally got around to trying Stone Stochasticity Grapefruit Slam.
I liked it a lot. Wasnt as grapefruity as some others I've had. Reminded me a little of SUCKS.
Had a Green Flash West Coast IPA on tap in SoCal today. Just so nice.
Followed it up with a Clown Shoes Galactica IPA. Not from the area, but a tremendous beer, nonetheless.
Wine, for the first (and hopefully) last time ever. It was all that's left in the fridge.
Where in SoCal?
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale after having moved into the new house today.
Venice. But no time to get to any other breweries or brew pubs. It was just a quick trip to the Yard House here.
Stone Go To IPA. It is a session IPA at 4.5%. Great nose of tropical fruits (mango, pineapple), citrus (grapefruit) and tangerine. The taste starts on grapefruit and a slight tropical fruit note before it gets completely washed out by grapefruit bitterness. Very bitter. Overall it is a pretty good beer but not worth paying $9 for a 6 pack (the same as their regular IPA which is very good).
