He's more highly rated than Isaac Rochell. Do the Irish have a real shot here?
How soon would he have to decide if he wants to EE?
Too late. ND's first class starts in under 11 hours. How soon would he have to decide if he wants to EE?
Would he fit in NDs system? I see this guy as true 4-3 DE but I'm not sure if he fits the ND CAT LB role. Based on his frame I think he can add more weight and become a 3-4 DE for ND. I think ND has enough at OLB and would rather him play DE. Thoughts?
I asked the same question a couple weeks back in this thread. I too rather doubt that he is nimble enough to play LB, but Lax pointed out that analysts give Fitts high ratings for his strength, and that's born out in his film -- he's able to come out of his stance and push blockers into the backfield with brute strength. At this point I feel fairly confident that he can grow into a solid 3-4 DE.
p.s. he's deciding between ND and Bama for his final official.
UCLA this weekend, Oregon the next, then either us or Bama on 2/1.
Had a great meeting with Orgeron yesterday, in which Orgeron apologized for having to defer him. Fitts was impressed with how genuine he seemed and told him he won't hold a grudge against USC. All his schools are even right now.
All per Schrader of 247.
My take: he sticks with SC. I get the impression that it's just where his heart is.
Do people think we'll try to get involved here? He looks to me like more of a 4-3 end ... not really big enough to be a 3-4 end or good enough in space to be a 3-4 OLB. But I could be wrong; don't know anything about him besides what I saw in a one-minute highlight tape.
This is what's hilarious about kids and these USC coaches. They do some super shady BS directly to him (why? because they think he is most likely to forgive them of all the EEs)... and then they come talk to him and seem "genuine." It's just a total joke. Are these guys f*cking hypnotists? Is Oregeron actually Jafar? How do these kids (or their parents) still trust these guys after so many public integrity issues?
Seriously. We are watching this kid play right into Orgeron/Kiffin's hands. They may have hoped Fitts would never decommit to begin with, but basically they hoped he would get over the initial disappointment and still go with his childhood favorite ... and I'd be pleasantly surprised if it didn't go down just like that.
Kylie has got to ask himself, what's the next thing they'll do to screw me over?
