According to ESPN analysyst Chris Mortenson, it's true. Wow what a traitor. It will be tough to recruit against Weis too.

Traitor!!! most fans hated this guy and pretty much tarred and feathered him, and ran him outta town!

he's not a traitor.

i hope he does well.

maybe you should have thought of that before you wanted him gone!

Kelly 4-0 at ND in Nov/Dec

Weis' record after November 1 in his time? I know it wasn't anywhere like that.

CW is a good ND guy. A great OC. A horrible head coach.

His ship sailed from South Bend for good reasons over a year ago.

Time to stop wanting him back.

Florida is going to be scary.

No reason to be mad at CW, we fired him and he's likely getting forced out of KC.

Agree with this though. There is no reason to be upset with him. We asked him to leave. He did recruit well while at ND and that put in place the foundation for this year.

I wish him nothing but the best. I will still hate Florida unless Muschamp is able to totally change the culture that has been prevalent there since the Ol' Ball Coach ruled the swamp.

Why would he leave as the OC of the Chiefs and take a step down to become the OC of UF. Only thing I can think of is that he got a taste of the college game and needs to be involved in young mens lives.

yeah i think he may have some health issues as well..the nfl is 24/7, 365...at least at the college level there is some dead time...hey he did a hell of a job with the damn chiefs and hes a very good recruiter...and im pretty sure the fb people at florida have some sence...theyre not gonna hire him for his looks...i like charlie, hes a nd guy...i wish him well, but hes gonna be tough as nails to recruit against

never said i wanted him back, but to say hes a traitor then whine about hes gonna steal recruits.

probably shouldnt have wished him gone if you didnt want those things to happen, he absolutely shredded defenses last year with his offenses and can recruit his socks off.

you think people dont notice those things? muschamp did.

don't hate the man! lay off the booze bro, i know its new year.

This is one I am posting everywhere that I brought from the "Love for Harrison" thread.

You know I am going to kill two birds with one stone here:

As impressive as an athlete as it is clear Harrison always was, you can just as clearly see how he was absolutely fuched around by "the five different defensive" coordinators in seven years, that victimized any defensive talent that we had. I mean you know he has to have talent because he survived playing outside linebacker at 205 lbs; at that level of major college football, that is incredible!

So the first dead bird is that it was obvious that Harrison had it, and was being squandered. The second dead bird is that most of his coaches were idiots. And that goes all the way to the top. I have heard more bellyaching about Charlie going to Florida. Let me ask you this: With what Charlie ostensibly did with Kansas City this year, why would they let him go? Hint. I would start to look at it from the fact that football is played by a team. There is no room for the kind of personal drama, and cult of personality issues, that we have all followed.

Look at it Charlie’s swansong is playing out with the careers of a couple of his players who vaulted to the NFL on his advice, (when they weren’t ready) and we are still uncovering major talent that was squandered while he was here.

I say blessings to Florida. They are going to need it, just to survive the ordeal. In the meantime, I propose that we lobby for at least two All Americans of defense next year! Here’s to you Harrison!

Seriously, if I were you I would rethink posting that in multiple threads.

Hayseed did struggle to adjust to playing multiple positions under multiple d-coordinators, but nobody involved with ND is an "idiot". Even Tenuta proved himself before he came to the Irish.

As for CW... whatever you thought of him has a head coach, he is undeniably a dangerous offensive coordinator. Sit down and think for 5 minutes and get back to me with a list of better (potential) O-coordinator hires in the country for Florida. Especially because Muschamp wants to run a pro-style offense.

Charlie is going to do well and I wish him the best. I only wish that ND had hired a head coach instead of an OC way back when.
Don't worry about recruits. Once you start winning, winning breeds success. Kids want to be part of that. And a winning ND who is on national TV week in and week out is huge for us. If we didn't have that national access our low points would be much lower, and in fact I would say that it would be near impossible to recover.

Florida is really going to become the NFL developmental program as a result of this. They're going to run a pro style offense in the midst of the best recruiting area in the country, with an NFL offensive coordinator and a top notch defensive minded head coach ensuring they get the ball lots. The talent this team has on the roster already is terrifying, even if it's predominantly on the defensive side of the ball.

I'm far more intimidated by this team today than I was before Meyer quit.

It'll be what ND should have been under Weis. Weis with a defense is frightening.

I dont like this and Charlie can coach, wouldnt want to play them with him pulling the trigger on that talent-Corso as said was maybe the worst coach in college football when he was at Indiana so what he says simply doesnt carry any juice at all

Agreed...

CW is the real deal, and if folks are honest, they'll admit that CW in a position where he has to worry only about O and recruiting is pretty effing scary...now put him in Florida under a Defensive-minded HC...thats scary squared.

...sure it could blow up too, but on paper, man lets just say there is a chorus of BOINGs happening in Florida

The Mad Hatter (if he isn't a skunkbear) and SATAN will soon be trolling the pro ranks for coordinators...

"Pssst hey, you got a kid that wants to be on my staff?...sweet!, hey uh, if you were a good dad, you'd come on down and spend some quality time with Junior to make up for all those empty years...so ya in?"

Didn't realize Charlie Jr. was that old either. Peter King has made a few tweets today saying the decision was made for family reasons.

Well, this sucks. I was getting ready to adopt KC as my AFC team (my brother's moving out there after he graduates). Now I'm going to have to balance my hate of Florida with my respect for Weis.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't fear the CW offense in the least. Confusing to learn, and not smashmouth at all. If you would have said a year or so ago that Weis would be at Florida, I'd say you were high. Weird how things happen. I say bring it on!

People who don't think this is a great hire are simply under estimating what this will do to recruiting.

Florida is now basically an NFL factory in prime talent land. They are going to run a pro style offense with an OC who has two Super Bowl rings and turned Jamal Charles into an 8 ypc back at KC. Kids are going to get drafted from there left right and center. As a result, they are going to gobble up recruiting talent even moreso than they have recently.

The year we constantly played from behind?

They can have him. His arrogance will fit in well.

Numbers don't lie.

Offense was never a problem at ND for Charlie. In 2009, the offense was ranked 8th in the country, and Weis is one hell of a recruiter. Defense was the problem at ND, my friend.

Imagine him recruiting for Florida against ND. Are you kidding me? The combination of a Muschamp defense and a Weis offense is scary as hell to me, as a few others have posted.

With the talent and speed already on that roster and Charlie having nothing to worry about but that offense, look out.
