Hell, ya!! Would love to see the Badgers on the schedule.

The games will be epic. Plus as you can see the schedule is getting back to the old days. Good tough gritty competition, what all of us has been waiting for. I love our new athletic director! First he working a deal with Miami and now the Badgers.

Epic?

On what grounds?

You're not a cheesehead are you?

The two schools have played 16 times in 109 years. Aside from the 2 ties only 1 game was decided by less than a TD most were laughers. In 1900, 1904, and 1905 WIS outscored ND 130-0. Now that would be Epic perhaps in a Badger saga.

Wisconsin has been ranked onlywhen they played. Army, Navy, and Air Force all can claim better credentials there. Only USC and MSU have more wins over ND than PU. Three times the Boilmakers have knocked off a #1 ND team, once with Leahy and twice against Ara. They beat Ara 3 years running, 4 years out of 5. ND was never ranked lower than 9th going into those games. Mike Phipps and Leroy Keyes were reviled names among Irish fans. I can't recall a reviled Badger player.

As for WIS vs PU as programs. The Badgers all-time winning % is .58 all of .04 better than PUs. If you want to base it on recent history, Alvarez has a winning % of .61 all of .03 better than Tiller. Tiller had to play ND, Barry didn't. I don't see significant difference between programs. Since the Barry became HC WIS has won 36 games more than PU - over 19 years. Almost 2 games/year and Barry owns 29 of those wins. He's gone.

As for the current coaches Danny Hope has no record and Bert Bielema started strong with 12-1 in '06, followed by 9-4, and 7-6. Is that do to a lack of Alvarez's players or a lack of Alvarez?

Bielema's boy have scored 380, 383, and 357 points in his 3 years while his defense has allowed 157, 301, and 357 points for those 3 seasons. Notice a trend? Again, is that due to a lack of Alvarez or a lack of Alvarez's players?

Bielema's team gave up 35 points last season to Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo - at home. Bert's also padded his record with The Citadel, and Western Illinois in addition to the usual cupcakes Akron, UNLV, and Buffalo. ND by comparison does play WSU like WIS does but hasn't played a Div 1 AA caliber school in 70 years.

A Wisconsin game doesn't add much if anything to ND recruiting as any game in San Antonio, NYC, or anywhere in FL.

Nevada on Sept 5th will be a tougher game than Wisconsin would.

That was in the 1900s. When is was the last time they played THIS DECADE

That was in the 60s and 70s.. Prudue is now a bottom feeder of the Big Ten and really doesn't play ND tough anymore.

This is a moot agruement. You can also say Lou 88 NC title team was Frank Leahy players or Jeff Jagodzinski two good years at BC was because of Tom O'Brien's recruiting. Here's a good one, Charlie's first two good years was because of Ty Wallingham recruiting.

Bielema's team gave up 35 points last season to Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo - at home.

Men of Troy drop 35 on the defending NC title team LSU at Tiger staduim. Notre Dame got out played by SDSU.

Nevada on Sept 5th will be a tougher game than Wisconsin would.

Nevada has a weak secondary. Keep tell yourself Nevada will play ND tougher than the Badgers.

All in all I don't know what point you were trying to prove. What I do know now, is that you're a fucking prick.

OH SNAP!

But seriously, it would be cool to see us play Bucky Badger. As a Minnesotan, I have always enjoyed it when any team beats them.

I would love to play the team that took the perennial powerhouse Cal Poly to overtime.

You brought up "Epic" and the "good old days". I did my best to find anything "Epic" about that series, but couldn't. Obviously you can't either.

My apologies for not realizing your grasp of the "good old days" only extends back to 2001 ("THIS DECADE"). I've never heard any ND fan refer to this decade as either the "good" days nor the "old" days.

... You can also say Lou 88 NC title team was Frank Leahy players ...

Do you write speeches for Joe Biden?

About the closest factual statement you can make with that quote is Lou coached Frank's GRANDSON - 4 years after the 88 NC. Frank's players ran out of eligibility more than 30 years earlier.

Huh! You gave me years ND played Wisconsin which were in the 1900s. All I ask has ND played Wisconsin this decade? Here let make it more easy on you, has ND played Wisconsin any this century?

Consider I'm 25 the good ol days to me would be the 90s to late 90s. You know when the schedule was actually decent and not filled with cream puffs.

Do you write speeches for Joe Biden?

You really got me good with this one. Greatest cut down in history, seriously, you should appear on Mtv's Yo' Mama with stuff like this.

Pardon me, I was on my lunch break and in a hurry when I wrote it. What meant was Lou 88 team was Jerry Faust players.

Glad we agree one thing though, that you're prick. Dunno why you are maybe it's because you got pick on, who knows.

I'd love to add this game...I've always respected the Wisconsin program especially when Alvarez was there...That stadium is unreal...Got to stand on the sidelines about 15 years ago cuz my neighbor was Brad Childress who was the O coordinator there at the time...The loudest stadium I've ever been in.

I have mixed feelings about adding Wisconsin to the schedule.

First: I dont think many ppl are going to be hurt over dropping Pdue for a couple years. IMO the rivalry and fire isnt there anymore.

Second: Why should we add another big 10 team to the schedule? We already are locked in to play UofM MSU *Pdue*. Why can't we get back to playing a BIG 12 team or even an Sec team to add variety and strength to the schedule

Third: if we r gonna add a big ten team go after the big dog that is the OSU fuckeyes. What have we got to lose?

64 years and counting. A series of epic proportion

Purdue wants to extend Notre Dame football rivalry

The current contract for the Purdue-Notre Dame football series is set through 2015.
Beyond that, it's anyone's guess.
Purdue athletic director Morgan Burke said he's in discussions with Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick about extending the series past 2015.
The Boilermakers and the Fighting Irish have played every season since 1946.
"Jack and I are talking about how to take that further," Burke said. "There's been a lot of speculation about four (years) on and two off. All I'm going to tell you is it's speculation.
"I marvel at the reports that are out there. We would like to find a way to continue it."
Speculation fueled this week when Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez told a Madison, Wis., radio station (WSTO-AM) that Notre Dame officials are trying to revamp its series with Purdue.
According to Alvarez, Notre Dame would like to play the Boilermakers every other season. Of course, Alvarez is trying to schedule the Irish with 2012 and 2015 as possible dates.
"We haven't confirmed yet," Alvarez told the radio station. "But yes, there is work being done on it."
Burke said he and Swarbrick understand the historical significance of the Purdue-Notre Dame series.
"There's a bond that has been built between the schools," Burke said. "I understand the pressure they're under trying to keep a relationship with the Big East going."
Former Notre Dame athletic director Kevin White altered the program's scheduling policy before leaving for Duke in 2008. White's plan was for Notre Dame to play seven home games, one off-site game that is considered a home game and four away games each season.
White's preference was to protect rivalries with Southern California, Navy and Michigan.
"Before Kevin White went to Duke, he had a strategy he was employing," Burke said. "That may not be the same strategy that Jack Swarbrick is working with."
Burke said Purdue has scheduled games with Cincinnati and Oklahoma State in the future but one thing is clear: He doesn't want the series with the Irish to be interrupted.
"We're talking, we're out to 2015 and we would like to continue it," Burke said. "I don't want to have the termination of that string occur on my watch if I can avoid it."
