Can I please give an Ass-hat award to Flutie tonight for this comment when they were talking about Yoon moving in to second all time scoring? He said there should be two categories for scoring, one for kickers and one for "players". I know he probably didn't mean it like it came out, but he's still a douche for saying it.

he's a douche when he says nothing at all...

The big 3 today beat their opponents by a combined like 180 to 21, we will NEVER beat a team 50-something to 7, it just won't happen. This team is relegated to mediocrity. We probably belong around 20th in the country, give or take. I legit think we'd go into a game with an FCS opponent and probably only win like 24-10 or something...I guess this rambling equals, what is the problem, and how can we fix it? (Or worse, can it even be fixed?)

Number 6 Wisconsin lost...at home...to BYU. We won. We saw improved play in areas of considerable weakness over the first two weeks.

Just win baby.

A heap of trick plays. What about getting Avery Davis passing to Wimbush like that Eagles Super Bowl play to Foles.

Or moving BW to RB, and he wins the Heisman while Book is Rees like effective and is adequate running.

Maybe not. But USC is losing to Texas at half and tOSU is losing to TCU. Not all top 25 are taking care of business today. We're did, though it wasn't sexy.

I think our defense will keep us from having to score 50 points but will probably lose a couple in low scoring fashion

I can’t take it anymore with these blatant holds against Notre Dame defenders that even the announcer Mike Terico sees and calls immediately in real time and there is no flag thrown! The last two weeks opposing offensive lines are mugging ND defenders and barely any calls.

Can the coaches or athletic department do anything about this? Just send video to the refs conference?

Postgame Thoughts:
2) Michael Young needs to take Finke's spot.

FIFY
Not sure why Finke plays so much. Guy had five catches and six yards. I realize this wasn't all his fault, given how they jumped the bubble screen. But I fail to see what he brings to the offense.
A couple of posts earlier said the WRs should be playing better. Generally I feel like Finke is the weak link. When Wimbush and Boykin get in a rythym, we move the ball right quick.

As for the game, yeah, wasn't great, especially on offense.
But it could be worse. We could be Wisconsin.

Yeah against Michigan also Finke performance was subpar and he was holding the WR as a group down.

During the OSU broadcast he said ND caught a break and Vandy left some points on the field.
I’d say ND left some points on the field too but it’s obvious he wants ND to lose.

There were so many holds. How they didn’t call the one on Kareem when he got spun around and had to come off the field for an injury is beyond me.

Yes he made a great catch for that touchdown. But he's generally not a downfield threat, at least when Wimbush is QB. And Young is faster and just as quick. Not sure why Young doesn't play more is all.

I generally like Herbstreit, but yeah. Also he was just talking about how hard it must be for Urban Meyer to be sitting at home in Ohio watching this game. Poor Urban.

The running game is fixed! Or maybe not.

Hey no it's good again and Tony Jones looks pretty decent! Oh well, who knows at this point.

Tony Jones looked good; like an actual running back. If Dexter returns, that should help things, but it's obvious that we're currently running with one lame leg.

line both BW and Book up behind center...

There was one play where it almost looked like we might line up Wimbush as a WR and Book at QB. I'm a little surprised we haven't utilized Avery Davis' QB skills yet either.

Man, with the teams in front of us in the polls losing, it's not unfathomable to see us actually move UP just by handling our business and winning haha mannnn what a crazy world we live in fellas

We're not a top-10 team, I think that's looking more certain. I started this season by saying we'd be about an 8-5 type, and was called something along the lines of too pessimistic. I think the D has been a pleasant surprise, but the O is about where I thought we'd be.

Wimbush is a good athlete, but not a good QB. The O can only go as far as the QB can take it.

Side note: we would get curb-stomped by Bama, OSU, LSU, Auburn, and Clemson; like, by forty points type curb stomping.

I'd honestly rather have an 8-5 season than to go into the playoffs and get dogwalked ala 2012 Bama...in terms of recruiting, it's not a good look.

I would like to see what we look like with Book before I concede we can't perform like a top 10 team. Just because he's not an electric runner doesn't mean he can't move the chains as a more consistent passer. He can run the ball too, just not like BW. Our D is very much the part of a top 10 team. Still hasn't given up 20pts, and has bailed our asses out several times after playing way toooooo much.
