This feels like 2012 all over again. We may win every game by the thinnest of margins (which would be great) only to get curbstomped in the playoffs to bama or OSU (which would not be great).

Having the opportunity to play in the playoffs would be great, period.

Honestly, this season feels like it has a better chance to end up like 2014 than 2012. This years team wouldn’t score double digits against that 2012 D. BW would probably get the Denard Robinson treatment. 24-6 2012.

Maybe if he is so damn fragile he should be taking RB reps and forgetting about ever throwing the ball again?

If anything can cause you to not be 100% focused on the game, you deserve to be pulled. I don't necessarily agree with everything Kelly does but the above is nothing but excuses. Players need to be locked in and committed to winning and to trusting the coaches, at least for the duration of the season.

Of course he should be focused, but he is human and he doesn't have that FU mentality to drive him like some players. If BK wants to get Book some playing time, put it in the game plan then put him in at the beginning of a drive and let him finish it. Use that time to talk to BW and maybe prepare him with the plays for his next series similar to the scripted plays to start the game.

Won't matter if there are 9 in the box.

Not saying you are implying this but seeing a lot of fans pinning hopes on Dex to instantly transform this offense into what we enjoyed for the first 3/4 of last season. I do think if Dexter can stay healthy & play through bumps, bruises, soreness and avoid lingering injuries similar to last season, then he can be a difference maker. But remember, he didn’t tote the ball very many times last year we just remember all his big runs. He needs to show he can carry a heavier load.

We had a guy by the name of Josh Adams who was pretty darn good and basically your prototypical "bell cow" who could be a feature back.

Dex has been knocked in the past for his inability to pass protect. We have other guys who can do that now, and we don't have a home run guy as reliable as Josh Adams.

Dex fills in as that guy who can break a run on any given play. Tony Jones Jr. showed us the past couple of weeks that he can be a tough runner and has pretty good vision. What he also showed is that he doesn't have the ability to take that hole, get to the second level, and take it to the house a la Adams.

The two should compliment each other really well.

Yep, I'm afraid these expectations for some are a little much.

I know many disagree with this, but I absolutely 100% agree with you.

I’d rather be in the thick of the battle even if outmatched. People look down on the Alabama experience, but that was an awesome season. With some luck on our side, we earned the right to be there. It was a tough loss, but nothing to be ashamed of, like so many seem to be.

As long as Alabama has the organizational structure it has right now, the title game is going to look like this more often than not. That doesn’t mean we roll over and settle for what’s seemingly possible in a lesser contest.

I 100% agree we are hiding the playbook. I also believe Kelly is making wimbush uncomfortable on purpose. When I watch this offense it doesn’t even seem like we are implementing the style of plays that we have used to put up big numbers in the past.

Game 1 - Michigan - I was ecstatic.
Game 2 - Ball State - I was concerned.
Game 3 - Vandy - I felt much better than Game 2.

Bottom line... we are 3-0 and ranked number 8 in College football.

I think the next two games will ultimately determine all my hopes and/or fears for our team for the rest of the season. Still drinking the kool-aid!!

Cheers and Go Irish!!

Odds are that we'll beat WF but by a scoreline that's still way too close for comfort. Our season rides on the two games after that.

Amen Brother. We have a lot of tough battles left on the schedule. IMHO, we are going to learn a lot in the next two. We beat Wake (away) and Stanford (home) convincingly, and I'm not only drinking the kool-aid, I'm guzzling that big jug.

Cheers and Go Irish!!

I love the fact TR is IB's coach. There's got to be some "slow white guy empathy" thing going on lol
