Why can't it just be consistently good football
We could run that same play every time and score 49.Thats so weird. I had no idea CJ might be able to run against Navy. Lets go Irish!!
I know it's "tradition" and all of that, but I wouldn't lose a single second of sleep if we never played Navy ever again. There is nothing to be gained by playing Navy, nothing. We can only at best leave the game neutral if we blow them out. Anything less than a blowout and it is an embarrassment. I don't care that this "is a really good Navy team," no one in the country perceives it that way so we're hurting ourselves.
I'm sure someone will come along and say "oh we owe theme for keeping our program alive 90 years ago, blah blah blah." Well guess what, we've been keeping their program alive for decades so I'd say we're even on that ledger. Play them next year and then drop them as an annual game.
This isn't an overreaction to this game either, I've been of this mindset for about 7 or 8 years now. We play them close and exhaust ourselves every year. I'm not sure if we have a season ending injury yet, but that's coming because Navy and their cheapass cut blocks ensure it.
As for my thoughts on this specific game:
1) run the godd*mn ball!
2) lets not have Kizer throw anymore out routes. If they don't get intercepted he throws horrible incompletions. It is not a throw he has ever shown any consistency.
We could run that same play every time and score 49.
But losing to us doesn't hurt Navy's conference standing so there's no risk to them.Plus it could also benefit Navy too. Here me out, Navy stand in a pretty strong Position in the AAC, honestly could be the strongest program in that conference, at least in a year-in year-out basis. Houston is on the rise, and Temple looks great. But I can see Navy winning 10 wins a year in that conference while being the favorite for the championship a good majority of the time. By dropping Notre Dame, they would lose the one game they lose all but 3 time every 50 years. Without that almost guaranteed lost, Navy could finish most years on the top 25 threshold.
Keep in mind, I'm boring and all for tradition and respect the navy program so I enjoy the series; even though the games piss me off every year.
Martini is a good football player. Really glad Diaco brought him in so early

I used to think Amy Schumer was hot. Why don't I anymore? Oh wait, this is a gameday thread.
Looks like a great play by Romeo, but no one blocked him. OMM makes that sack.
How about after Trumbetti's first half play, he gets benched. Hah, classic.
