But South Bend is not Los Angeles (BREAKING). Traveling fans of both teams book hotel rooms in SB and surrounding towns months, sometimes a year in advance. With such a large number of official visitors, how does ND have access and the timing to coordinate last second plans by recruits? Even though it has more hotel rooms than other towns of its size, that number is still rather small, and the number or really nice hotels is finite.

And for all the 2015 guys, where in the hell are they staying when they decide within the last two weeks that they are going to come this weekend? And how are HS juniors and families all affording to decide within the last few weeks to buy loding and RT airfare to SBN or Chicago? Do high school programs raise money for their top athletes to take visits like these? Is that even permissable?

Is there a thread on here somewhere that has looked at this in detail? I'm fascinated by this.

Luckily for Notre Dame... they have dorms and in a pinch... the Morris Inn.

What a defining weekend for this program.

Brian Kelly coming off a title run trying to prove it wasn't a gimmick. Working with essentially a backup qb and the loss of a ton of leadership off last years team. Big game! Most are "big games" at this university but really........ BIG GAME. All the recruits, the families, highschool coaches, everything on a platter coming off a bye week. Facing maybe the weakest USC team in a decade plus with an interim coach. No excuses! None.

Likely recruiting scenario? We walk away with Luatua and Drew T and make an impact on numerous 2014, 15 recruits. Outside of Luatua, I'm holding all guesses on Cali kids until USC hires a coach. I just think these kids are looking for a reason to believe in USC. Nyles Morgan's visit confuses me. Is he interested or coming for the big game to appease the parents? Hopefully Hoge enjoys the trip and we offer the Mariota-like qb from Cali. Like the kids film. Big weekend!

Obviously not breaking any news with this post but I had to share ND thoughts with someone besides my wife before she killed me.

I honestly don't think this game could have gone any better, recruiting-wise. The recruits saw where the are openings and the atmosphere in the stadium stayed electric all 60 minutes. They would have been bored if ND had blown out USC. Big win. Hopefully it translates to a big recruiting weekend.

I wonder what the kids are thinking after that game? Defensive studs must have appreciated that performance and see themselves on that unit... or as our starting QB!
