Saw in another thread where Loy's Crystal ball for Juju is ND.

His Crystal Ball is trending towards ND. ND is at 50%, USC 38%, UCLA 6% and Alabama 6%.

Recently (this week), a lead Alabama recruiting reporter, Shannon Terry (24/7 CEO), and JC Schurburtt put in ND predictions, joining Loy, Barton Simmons, Gerry Hamilton and Keith Niebuhr.

The only ones not picking ND right now are Pac-12 team recruiting reporters and Justin Hopkins.

FWIW, Crystal Ball is 46% ND for Quick and 50% for JuJu Smith. Hardly a difference. Unless you know something we don't, IDK how you can wager Smith is way more likely to end up Irish than Quick, especially since Smith's dream school is apparently USC and a solid coaching hire will be a huge help.

I don't know crap about crystal balls. I am along for the ride when it comes to recruiting.

Pretty simple. Recent movement on Juju is trending towards ND, recent movement on Quick is trending away. Obviously there is a long way to go, but when making a 'whose likely' list, I think considering recent trends in the eyes of industry insiders is definitely a way to go.

A man speaks sense... A man knows recruiting.

I don't know about Quick. Academic issues as reported by ISD a week ago seem minor, but that's always a concern.

ND is still the front runner. The "recent movement" is just two predictions... one by Hopkins while he was en route to Oklahoma for UCLA, and another by some UCLA guy for Oklahoma prior to the visit to the Sooners. Neither seems based on anything. I see no reason to believe that with a great visit ND wouldn't be the front runner pending moves by USC in the coaching department. ND still leads on the crystal ball, too.

I see no reason to believe that Juju will end up at ND. I think if anything he has an Elmer moment and I'm honestly worried about him being there and being a wet blanket. I wish we had scheduled him for another weekend. I expect him to end up at USC after they hire whatever big name coach they pick.

Ultimately, I'm always very pessimistic about these "big recruiting weekends"... I think you're better off getting kids on campus in small groups outnumbered by enthusiastic current commits and giving them undivided attention from the coaches.

You? Pessimistic?

In all seriousness I agree. I prefer groups of 4 or 5 that are, like you said, surrounded by commits and coaches.

II is confirming Nyles Morgan is coming for the USC game. It will be an unofficial for him.

I like it better as an unofficial. He gets the experience plus we can get him back on campus again after the season

What's the status on ILB recruiting?

We got Deeb last year and two OLB's committed so far this year. Let's hope we can reel in an elite ILB prospect.

Randolph is a candidate to move inside. So is Yeargin III.

As rtrntoglory noted, Maritini is a pure ILB, and we are still after others, Nyles Morgan and Drue Tranquil in particular. If we miss one those guys, except a couple other names to pop up. I think the staff wants two ILBs this cycle at minimum, which is smart considering the lack of depth.

One reason Juju could be Irish is that SC landed some serious safety prospects last year in Sua Cravens and McQuay. Meanwhile, aside from Redfield, our safety position has issues and Juju could start as a freshman.

JuJu has said he'd love to play along side Cravens. There's definitely a chance ND lands this kid, but I think it's very slim. I agree with most that he ends up at USC in the end. I personally believe the only reason this kid isn't already committed to SC is because of Kiffin (and now the lack of a coach). Once they hire someone, as long as they don't crap the bed, I think most kids who were on the fence will fall on the side of the Trojans (unfortunately). Just my opinion.

like everyone has stated. Kiffy getting fired will probably end up being the worst thing for ND. Now they'll hire someone who will come in and give them the new hire momentum they need to probably end up with a decent class in 2014.

Definitely a risk. But the rewards could be phenomenal, because the atmosphere is so much better for a night game than a day game. If you've never been, it's literally night and day (see what I did there?). I can actually....wait for it....STAND a night game without being told to sit down multiple times by people not willing stand and cheer for their team.

And even in the horrific loss, we got guys like Steve Elmer and KeiVarae Russell from that game.

But yes greyhammer, we gotta have this win!!!!!!!

I was at the Michigan game last year night game, and the difference is incredible in atmosphere. Personally i like watching ND during the day at 2:30 but for the sake of atmosphere which has been a topic for like a decade now. Night games are pretty sweet
