Was that the real Carlyle Holiday that started this thread? Just curious.

Interesting tidbit from Mike Frank...

USC is coming after Blake Barnett hard. And if they miss, they may come after Waller. Why when they already have 2 QB commits?

Well, Mike Frank says they aren't happy with them and may try to move on from both. Just even more evidence to the Town = extremely overrated thing. I don't know where Town would end up (maybe Stanford?) if cut loose, but I thought this was interesting.

How this applies to ND is that USC may make a run at Waller if/when they miss on Barnett. If that happens, expect Waller's recruitment to get very interesting.

Damn...I almost hope we don't get a qb until the end. I'd rather be the hunter than the prey. Why is everyone scrambling this year for a qb?

Football is probably the only sport they consider a 'revenue sport.'
Step your ass up and offer it in all.

Doesn't mean a whole lot to me since if they want a kid gone they can find ways to make it hard for him to stay. It's a great idea to pitch recruits, but it doesn't ensure any changes really. You can use position changes, benching and even media criticism to force a transfer if you really want it.

It does ensure changes. It ensures you will have your tuition paid for, at least with respect to football and basketball.

USC, leading the way...according to them anyway. Most people would be more accurate in saying "Following in the footsteps of many other universities that did it first."

May I interject?

I appreciate the proper use of "ensure" versus "insure.

Ensure is to guarantee in advance, insure is to recompense after the fact.

Usually when something has gone horribly wrong.

Just to demonstrate that I'm a "Grammar Hammer" beyond IE I offer this: I've chided the volunteers at my polling place for decades that "To Insure Your Votes Are Counted" should be "To Ensure ..."

I've also congratulated Target for their "Ten Items or Fewer" register lanes, though they've sadly caved to the sloppy "Ten Items or Less."
