We went 3 and out the series before, the kick return was NEEDED for momentum to swing back in NDs favorthe kick return was nice to take the wind out of USC's sails, but let's be honest, if the return was called back, ND would've dog walked USC's defense down the field for a TD anyway.
I finally have arrived back in North Dakota. About 28 or 29 hours of driving the past few days was worth every minute.
'Held' is the nice term. the SC Oline grabbed heads and necks wrastlin style when they got beat.Did this guy see that his team was called for a single penalty for 5 yards until late in the 4th? We had like 150 yards in penalties by then.
What was over the line? If you told me they physically touched anyone or said something really personal about a player I'd agree, but it looked like a lot of "you suck, fuck you, have a good flight home."
I felt like I was losing my mind on the intentional grounding. How did they not call that?!Watching game again and second quarter we get sack and fumble and the refs call holding on Golden. Total bogus call! So many sacks we got screwed out of and that throw into the ground while in the grasp was grounding for sure.
Ended up being about 1700 miles or soThat’s a mess of driving. How many miles?
No, stop being elitist. The fans didn't throw anything. They didn't try to fight the players. The wished a heartfelt goodbye to a rival. The whole "we're better than that" is what made Notre Dame Stadium a library for 20 years. We're better than that.
We're better than that.
I don’t get the fuss. He was just showing some Love.
Yes. I am pretty sure most players want the smoke anyway. Football isnt a spelling bee or math competition. Its dudes giving each other CTE in the rain. It's not that serious. Football should be fun. Those USC players will say "man I really want to beat ND because their fans are dicks." And maybe they will and then they'll talk their shit. It's fun.
SC guy walked thru flashing the double birds. Waited until he was almost out of sight to avoid an issue later. Pussy till the end. What was over the line? If you told me they physically touched anyone or said something really personal about a player I'd agree, but it looked like a lot of "you suck, fuck you, have a good flight home."
My entire TL is unfortunately just a bunch of USC fans pointing out every single missed call, completely ignoring the fact we were penalized like 10x and they only had one accepted penalty against them all night. They’ve fully committed to blaming the loss on the refs.
Then start calling me Fonzie!Being an asshole is cool. I’m not about that but whatever floats your boat.
I actually noticed this in real time. Surprised it didn't get called. Maybe because they missed two tackles in short succession right before it happened. You can tell these weenies watch the game making a list of their excuses while ignoring anything they do wrong. In the end it’s just sour grapes. They made the better than average catches while we dropped a few catchable balls. Every play that got reviewed went their way. They got kicking game breaks and unforced errors from a previously competent QB and yet they get their ass kicked. That means we whipped their soft asses like we always do when we win in the trenches. It’s even better when it’s raining and they’re miserable. It was nice to see love and price almost get the ball as much as they should.
They also played Hallelujah when the Refs finally awarded ND a penalty against USC. They only had 1 penalty for 5 yards well into the 3rd quarter.Watching highlights today I realized they played the Price is Right theme after JD scored the KO return.![]()
I think it was because the hand was inside and the player spun away. He was borderline in how quickly he let go and it definitely could've been called, but I don't think it was that easy to see live at game speed.I actually noticed this in real time. In person report:
My brother and I took my dad (Class of 1970) as a bucket list trip. It's my brother and I's first home game experience and my dad's first since he graduated.
(1) The weather was beautiful earlier in the day, and we were able to tour the whole campus with sunny clear skies.
(2) The rain was torrential about an hour before kickoff, while the first half was mostly dry. Second half the rain picked up again but not too terrible. It was fairly warm so even though we were soaked it was tolerable.
(3) This is my first general CFB home game experience so I have nothing to compare it to but the campus atmosphere was electric and the tailgaters were partying their hearts out in force.
(4) The stadium was bumping, the game day experience is legit and the crowd had a lot of energy.
(5) Hell of a game. We were all on our toes until basically the end.
(6) The whole stadium was, to put it mildly, pissed at the officiating. We were getting hit with soft, ticky-tacky calls while USC had probably half a dozen blatant holding calls and a hit out of bounds calls that were totally missed. And I generally am not one to blame the refs but it was BAD.
We finally pulled the trigger on the trip due to my dad's health and it was a memory all three of us will cherish. A win over SC was the cherry on top of a perfect weekend.
Gotya - I thought he jogged off the field without shaking his hand like a coward. Even though he and his coward AD are running away from this great rivalry, at least he shook Freeman's hand. There are multiple ND fans across the internet today who were at the game sharing video and photos of a quick hand shake. It happened
