ND just dropped an instagram reel saying the series was coming back, but not until 2030. Games scheduled 2030-2033. Week 1 August 31, 2030 in LA, week 1 August 30, 2031 in South Bend, next two years TBA in the first three weeks of those seasons

2027's schedule is still a little light, but if 2028 and 2029 scheduling commitments hold, I don't mind not resuming til 2030. 2028 has Miami, Texas, Arkansas, Clemson, and @Auburn. 2029 has @Texas, Alabama, and Clemson.

The early season thing is slightly annoying from a “tradition” aspect but I’m not gonna pretend it’s a dealbreaker.

The thing it does is make seasons where the team leans young exponentially more difficult (2025) and seasons where the team leans old beneficial to us (2024). Basically have to build a roster in a certain way to accommodate a schedule which really shouldn’t be the case.

Seems like ND knew IU was going to cancel the series sooner or later and chose the security of having SC locked in for week 1 for 2 years (which was the likely IU spot) rather than gambling on getting a new high caliber replacement in a few years when they officially did it.

Is what it is. Cigs may be a great coach but he schedules like a coward. Smart of ND to get in front of it even if the date isn’t perfect.
