My gut tells me that he was trying to get fired towards the end here. He emotionally couldn't handle losing and dealing with hard questions. So what's the quickest way to get fired, stir up a bunch of crap in the locker room to the point that it's so toxic that the owner has to do something. Urban walks away with a huge payday. I am under the impression that he probably didn't become a sociopath until Florida. He was probably a hard working assistant and HC at BGSU and Utah, while still likely a total asshole. Once he got to Florida, the big time pressure got to him and he morphed into what he is now. I'd venture to say it got even worse at Ohio State and by the time he left there he was pretty dead inside.

I agree he'll be back in some form, either as a college HC or as a TV pundit. I don't know how anyone can possibly take him seriously now and any remaining ND fans that lobby for him to ever become head coach of the Fighting Irish might as well be Russian bots because there's virtually nothing left inside of you if you'd even consider it. One way or another, he'll coach again. That's just how the culture of the sport is, now more than ever. Chances are, there will be guys crazy enough to work for him and players crazy enough to play for him. It's the nature of the beast these days.

I am very curious as to the kind of people that would still carry water for this guy now. I can't imagine he has many defenders at this point. Nobody is claiming he's been "cancelled." As someone said previously, this might be the first time in his career he didn't have everyone covering for him. He's now had to face the music twice: resigning at Ohio State and getting fired in the NFL. Buyer beware.
