For as miserable as he looked in Jacksonville, he still lacks self awareness and is crazy competitive. I can't imagine that Jacksonville is the exit he wants for himself from the profession. He's unretired three times now. Maybe you are right and he's finally done, but with his personality I have a hard time thinking he's not going to want to get back into it. Not to mention I don't think things are as rosy at home as his wife and kids are projecting on social media. He may want to be back in it and not at home, and they may not want him home either.

However woke people think society is, we have pretty short memories and attention spans. The coaching carousel starts spinning earlier now than ever. Sark hits too many potholes come fall in Austin, I have a hard time believing they don't reach out and see if he's interested. That program is desperate to win and they're headed to the SEC in short order. The portal and NIL give players more leverage. Meyer will know this, whoever hires him will know it and so will the players.

As an alum of Cincinnati, you can't tell me there would not be mutual interest should Luke Fickell eventually leave there. They're going to be a Power Five program soon. If Ohio State did show him the door, what an opportunity for this spiteful shit of a human to go recruit for Cincinnati against Ohio State.
i do agree hes going to have a really big itch to try and not end on the sour notes. But at some point the wife makes decisions in life. And after the way the last few have went down. I have a feeling her foot is firmly planted.

Hadn't listened to Dan Dakich in over a year, but decided to listen during lunch. He's ranting and raving how Meyer is a great person and the article was just a hack job. You could have a video with Meyer killing someone and Dakich would find some excuse. When it comes to Meyer, he'll defend him to the bitter end.
Dakich played for Bobby Knight and coached for him. He was HC at Bowling Green when Meyer was there as HC of the football program. His first and final only HC job, Dakich, BTW. His TV and radio career hasn't exactly been smooth sailing either due to things he has said and or done.

Zero surprise Dakich would carry water for Meyer.

I live in the middle of IU country. Well aware of all of that. He's been defending Meyer since they met at BG. Just thought it was funny that after over a year I put him on and there he is defending him again.

He's part of a dying breed I'd rather let die.
