They are still falling for it. Ha! Keep saying it though guys.

I've learned all investigations are the same, whether they're run by career professionals or run out of Four Seasons Landscaping. All the same.

I'm still amazed how tight the panties are bunched on some of you. Biden won, Trump is acting like a 3 year old who had their bag of gummy bears taken away. Let him kick and scream. Even if it doesn't change the election, if his antics uncover any irregularities you should welcome that. Our voting process needs to be as safe and above board as possible.

Yup. I think most on the right are ready to move on.

But part of me wants 4 years of continued Durham investigations into the collusion delusion origin, 4 years of illegitimate election probes, and 4 years of looking into the Biden's family business and taxes.... It's only fair lol...

It's his tax returns.

It takes a van.

I heard is was a bunch of Biden family Burisma and Chinese business paperwork that Hunter forgot to pick up from Kinkos.

Maybe the San Francisco homeless will have room with Kamala in her wing. Joe just wants the basement.

Feels “more at home.” And his ankle hurts.

I don't know. I'd agree if the basement was a walkout basement. Stairs would be too much for old Joe. If there's an elevator, I suppose it would be fine so long as it's big enough for Joe's Hoveround. A walk out basement would be perfect for the dog too. I can't wait for the Occupy Rose Garden folks to move in. The Ellipse Circle would be great as a new Autonomous Zone!

And of course, we have to change the racist name of the White House

I couldn't find any article or comment I could find on Fox News website on Trump's loss in SCOTUS on their front page though it was published 17 hours ago. "Supreme Court tosses GOP bid to throw out PA mail ballots without hearing it". Fox has two headline articles on 1) touting Texas's new lawsuit against Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and 2) how House Republicans want Trump to order Barr to appoint a special counsel to investigate November's presidential election.

There is a featured article on a teacher getting fired for her "right of center" views.

The letter to Trump from some House Republicans to order Barr to do his will says:
"The Department of Justice has been asked on multiple occasions to launch an investigation into this matter, but inaction from the department along with comments made by the attorney general indicate a lack of willingness to investigate the irregularities your campaign and other elected officials across the nation have alleged."
If you only read Fox, you'd have this "Election Stolen" theme thrown in your face daily and have no perspective on why he has lost in courts in all these cases. Stoking the victimization and fraud themes perpetuated by Democrats, MSM, Hollywood, DC elite or whomever and indirectly the Culture Wars theme. Now the Attorney General of the U.S. is the enemy and should do Trump's bidding.

Sad.

Lol. Thats simply not the case.

The hard-core MAGA crowd is mad at Fox for NOT supporting the stolen election theory.

On the other hand, you claim "wow this is wild, Fox won't cover the facts!" Its not some secret that right leaning media left leaning media either don't fully overlap in what they cover, emphasize, etc.

Isn't that what I implied? The MAGA hat people who show up at these Trump rallies and Fox as the mouthpiece for demanding state legislatures controlled by Republicans reject the will of their voters.

What is very concerning is that every Secretary of State is having the MAGA people show up in front of their homes and in their neighborhoods and threatening them and their families including death threats.

It's an election. He lost. Get over it. When your state has to have security added at a routine approval of the result of your state's voting, it's an attempt to undermine our system.

Yup, and Trump himself is telling them to go to Newsmax and OANN. Fox News is not some through-and-through propaganda outlet... the problem is that their most visible personalities are there for entertainment and that's what people seize on. Hannity, Tucker, Dobbs, etc. are all entertainers/grifters no different than "personalities" on any other network. The truth is that the bulk of Fox News reporting is legitimate journalism with editorial standards just through a right-leaning lens that is going to bother some people. Their prime time programming is different... doesn't matter if you're talking historically with people like O'Reilly or Beck or current hosts they are there to get eyeballs and cash fat checks.

The FBI defines domestic terrorism as:

"...the unlawful use, or threatened use, of force or violence by a group or individual based and operating entirely within the United States or Puerto Rico without foreign direction committed against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof in furtherance of political or social objectives."

Yeah but when Fox News goes into court and says this:

"Fox persuasively argues, that given Mr. Carlson's reputation, any reasonable viewer 'arrive with an appropriate amount of skepticism' about the statement he makes."

https://www.npr.org/2020/09/29/917747123/you-literally-cant-believe-the-facts-tucker-carlson-tells-you-so-say-fox-s-lawye

...then they really need to be forced to put a disclaimer on when they return from any commercial break. Their viewers do not separate their news from their "entertainment."

They're a cancer on society. There are good and bad news sources on both side of the political spectrum, yet when folks test knowledge of current events, those who say they get the majority of their news from Fox News also test below those who watch no. news. at. all. It literally makes the viewer dumber.

Newsmaxx or OANN simply do not have the reach and power of Fox News. I don't think Fox is worried.

Holy cow. Carlson is a homer for sure, but if you're going to put a disclaimer on him, half of CNN's homers, and 90% of MSNBC's homers should all get disclaimers. If you think either of those networks aren't as bad are worse than Fox, then you're showing your own bias. Journalism itself is dead. It's all entertainment and ratings now. Even sources that used to be good like Reuters, have tipped a lot lately.

That's the point I'm trying to make. Carlson, Hannity, etc. are literally entertainers and do not care about facts. Or ethics. Or integrity. It's a grift for TV ratings. But basically every single person who is a "media personality" is a grifter these days, it's not something unique to Fox News primetime personalities. And it's why I never watch a minute of cable "news" from any side.

I wouldnt look too deep into the whole "look what Fox said in court" thing. They pay lawyers a lot of money to find winning arguments. It is convenient that he isn't really an anchor.

If MSNBC got sued for something related to Rachel Maddow or whatever, they'd be more than happy to run with that same argument if it was their ticket to a W.

Fox is a fun boogeyman for folks on the left, its just amusing that many will scream bloody murder about Tucker or Hannity when they love Maddow, Lemon, Cuomo, etc.

On the four states that are the subject of Texas's lawsuit to overturn the election results, I previously noted(2020 Election thread #1281) that the Texas court case relies on each state legislature having the authority to pass their state election laws and that is what was done in Pennsylvania with wholehearted support from both aisles.

I also noted that in Michigan the state voters passed a referendum on their voting rights which became part of their Constitution.

Now Wisconsin. In a case regarding the extension of mail-in voting extending the time six days for a mail-in ballot could be received after Nov 3, SCOTUS decided in a 5-3 vote to affirm a lower court ruling that said that their voting laws required a ballot must be postmarked and mailed on Nov 3. Chief Justice Roberts wrote that the Wisconsin case “involves federal intrusion on state lawmaking processes” which SCOTUS would not do.

Justice Kavanaugh wrote a lengthy solo concurrence as well. Among the reasons he pointed out that the Supreme Court “has repeatedly emphasized that federal courts ordinarily should not alter state election laws in the period close to an election—a principle often referred to as the Purcell principle.”

Texas and seventeen other conservative states is asking SCOTUS to negate their historical and this Court's prior ruling that affirms state's lawmaking powers and their rights to set their voting standards as articulated by Roberts and Kavanaugh and assented by three other Justices in the prior Wisconsin case.

You would think that eighteen states would support states' rights and freedom from federal or judicial interference in voters decisions after the fact. I guess only when it serves their purposes.

I think they all should, absolutely.

It's the usually cop-out to say "well what about CNN!" CNN is definitely crap but I don't think they have anything quite like Hannity/Carlson. Carlson is a vile TV production. MSNBC *tried* to follow in Fox's footsteps but failed miserably.

There is no good cable news. But the point remains that viewers of Fox News are the only ones who end up worse than people who don't even watch/read any news.

Worse yet, the last ten years have really seen the information bubble so reinforced with social media algorithms literally designed to sent someone down the rabbit hole of extremism. Facebook et al should be prosecuted for the widespread manipulation of society.

And it's not just the Right. I got into it the other day with Georgetown Masters students who couldn't grasp that "Defund the Police" alienated millions upon millions of people and is self-defeating. They live in a sad bubble too.

I'm not sure I see an easy way out. Americans agree on like 80% of issues but the needless division has been ratcheted up to a 10. We've sorta skipped seeing the dignity in other people and have gone full-tribal.

When they say people like Don Lemon (lmao) are just as bad as Tucker/Hannity it allows them to justify it based on a false equivalency.

The most telling thing about the great "CNN is just as bad as Fox!!!" was Trump got COVID. Literally every time after coming back from a commercial break they would have to do the "And we all hope he gets better and our prayers are with him". Remember when HRC was sick? Fox jumped at that and did not care about her health. So the false equivalency thing between the two is a joke.

I guarantee any sort of illness that Biden will get youll see some sort of "We told you he was a sick old man, how selfish!!!" "Why isn't he resigning!?!?!".

Tldr: Fox's Tucker/Hannity/Pirro crackpots have pushed people into ridiculous positions and towards more deranged new sites. CNN at its worst riles up middle aged people to get a little SJW. These orgs are not equal lmao

Puleeeze...........CNN is every bit as bad as Fox and pulls the same stunts when reporting. Just on the other side of the fence.
