I sold my other truck when I got out of doing site work in construction and moved more into design and CM and bought a Prius.

Then we decided to do a major remodel (bathroom, garage, pool and deck) and I was like “shit, I need a truck”.

Anyhow, I insisted that my kid learned to drive in the truck. It’s a manual transmission so it was terrifying at first but paid off in the long run. I could send him to go pick up materials while I kept working and it made driving anything else a breeze.

totally possible to spin this positively for GOP. Just have Trump shown bravely being President while being sick. War time spirit and all that.

The odds that he orchestrated this or is otherwise faking COVID is very low and would be an unheard of conspiracy.

However, I do agree that if managed correctly it is by far his best opportunity to reverse is poll and approval numbers that have been consistently terrible since June, and emerge as a sympathetic figure.

I find it more hilarious the folks that act like Trump is one foot in the grave now. Even as unhealthy as he looks, he is still well above average for his age group. As such his actual odds of being incapacitated are very low even before factoring in elite medical care. Probably more likely to be assassinated than die of Covid even after contracting Covid. Not hoping for either - pray for a swift and full recovery.

Most importantly, I hope that everyone in the Trump administration -- as well as those exposed at the debate, Cleveland Clinic, and his fundraiser yesterday -- come through this in good health. There are a lot of ghouls out there reveling in the irony of the situation.

Assuming that happens, this is a brand new race and everyone needs to reset their expectations. The one thing Donald Trump has not been for four years is a "sympathetic" character.

By their own admission the Proud Boys are a “Western chauvinist” organization. Now, what do the mean by “western”? That reads to me as meaning “European”. In fact the Proud Boy rhetoric sounds a whole lot like manifest destiny arguments of the past. If you are advocating for the primacy of “European” culture are you not advocating for the primacy of Europeans ie white people? Anyhow, best case scenario they are proto fascist goons.

Here’s something else to mull over there are a lot of “white supremacist” Mexicans and South Americans running around and in places of power. One of the crazier things I saw back in the day was a Nazi gang from Oxnard comprised completely of ....Mexican Americans.

You’re right. He’s actually the stereotypical American who makes this COVID-19 pandemic worse than it needs to be as far as being too unhealthy to fight it off like a healthy immune system does.

I love the free will we all enjoy in America, but people have to quit stuffing cheeseburgers down their gullets & washing them down w/ Big Gulps while they sit in front of their computer. Of course we’re one of the unhealthiest nations despite healthcare dollars spent...most are slovenly & inactive & expect some magic pill or medical procedure to cure their ill.

Really disappointed that the Surgeon General or White House or whomever didn’t take this pandemic as an opportunity to roll out personal health inititiave. There’s no way, Americans (or any humans) should be so disgustingly obese & of poor cardiovascular health.

My family is very mixed but majority Black with Asian/Hispanic and then White making the main breakup.
