Sadly a lot of American voters are this way. They like what they hear out of a candidate's mouth, even if they don't practice what they preach. I'm sure a lot of them believe their candidate is innocent of any wrongdoing or they're willing to overlook it because the alternative bats for the other team.

I would rather have an asshole winner than a good guy loser 11 times out of 10. McCain is a neo-con who epitomizes the the Military Industrial Complex. I could argue he is way more dangerous than Trump who started zero wars. Bomb Iran to the tune of Barbara Ann. Maybe, just maybe, tons of people are stuck in the R camp b/c the alternative is so terribly toxic, not because they slobber on the knobs of their overlords. Trump has a disturbing number of knob gobblers for sure - at least they wave the American flag while doing it.

I should dig back and find my comments eight years ago about the Supreme Court being the #1 reason to vote for Trump and every other issue/flaw isn't even close. That was without even thinking Roe v Wade was possible. Took a fake Republican to get it done - give me an effective charlatan over the distinguished perma-politician all day, every day. No war was nice too - I would think that could unite the libs but you are so well brainwashed you can't see past raw hatred of your opposition.

I agree with this. That said, I’m no fan of NeoCons either. The Ukraine/Russia war can be traced back to guys like McCain & Chris Murphy (Dem from CT) photo-opping w/ a bunch of neo-Nazis supporting Ukraine. Then fast forward to the current war and you have Mitt Romney who took four deferrals to avoid Vietnam calling a veteran like Tulsi Gabbard a traitor. Even “nice guys” can be not so nice when it comes to power.

Oh yeah. As I've gotten older, I've learned to dislike McCain's politics more. But I respect how he handled his campaign. I think he also knew from the beginning that it was always going to be a difficult campaign for him to win.

Agreed. He handled it w/ class & could read a room. I’ll forever be respectful of what he endured in Vietnam. I’ve also evolved from my younger days when I thought forever wars were righteous & things like the “Patriot Act” were necessary. I was ignorant to the facts & can now see that looking back.

Libertarians are terrible at building coalitions which is why they are a loser joke on par with the Green party. Enjoy your philosophical purity battling it out for third place. You should celebrate Trump breaking the Republican party. The enemy of your enemy is your friend. My enemy is the swamp establishment. The "good people on both sides" got debunked years ago lol. So I'd encourage you to read a transcript of what Donald said and get back to us.

As for the flag, I don't mind it. There was a black guy in my panhandle neighborhood who had one flying from his truck. I don't think he was racist. Some people who wave it around probably are.

Oh sure, I don't think everyone who waves it is automatically racist. But a lot are. Many are also ignorant or idk the right word.. almost thickheaded?

I think being a northerner it just truly annoys me seeing people here in PA, and where I live is where the First Defenders are from, the people who rushed to D.C. at the start of it all to answer Lincoln's call.

You and I agree on a number of things, disagree on a few. To the Trump rallies and who's there and what their stances are, I would say our country has seen more racism and hatred on college campuses in the past 2 weeks than we did in the past 8 years of Trump being in a political position/ campaign. And it's not even close.

If we're putting it in football terms, I'd say the racism score is Left 49 Right 10. Just one guy's opinion.
