A key point here, is that Putin was active during Trump's tenure, but he never did invade. There's a big difference between supporting subversives/separatists and invading. Why he didn't invade during Trump's time in office, I have no idea, but I highly doubt it was because they were friends.

Russian separatists backed by Russia/Putin? Nuh uh, doesn't count! lmao who cares if Russia financed them, gave them visa's to travel freely in Russia, recognized them as effectively Russians. Trump used bigly tough words and that's enough!

Russia granting 650,000 passports to them in 2019? Nope not Russians!

Sure it counts, but if you think those actions are on the same level as a full scale invasion, I'm glad you aren't calling the shots in foreign affairs.

Never said that. The idea of the meme is that Putin just decided to invade once Biden was there, so context is absolutely necessary, not that anyone would care to understand that because "Toronto = bad lib".

Under your logic WW1 falls at the feet of Gavrilo Princip, I'm glad that you aren't in charge of writing and teaching history.

More people died with COVID under Biden in 2021 than they did under Trump in 2020, and that was after he was gift wrapped the jab 🤷‍♂️

I don't know if Russia chose to invade because Biden/Trump or not, but it seems like pulling at strings to compare the status quo being maintained (Russian involvement in Donbas civil war) under Trump with an actual invasion that occurred while Biden was President.

I don't think it really matters much one way or the other. Wonder if things start winding down over there here at some point. Ukraine hasn't taken land back. It's not like it's going to get easier to do that. Being reliant on other countries for literally everything doesn't seem sustainable.

That tends to happen in wars, even russia is depending on iran, china and NK to supplies now.
Right. They get help too. No doubt. Russia does have an industrial base though.

Ukraine is dirt poor. Even relative to Russia, not a wealthy country. Is Russia relying on their friends to pay pensions? Supply all their weapons? Tanks? Etc.

Isn't it worth sending our aging military equipment to tear up the russian military and allow us the study what a modern conventional war looks like?

Plus this this is finally getting the US to wake up and kick start it's military industry again.

It is, but the dilemma is there is only so much of that to supply them with and we're coming close to reaching that point, which is why that war has come to a grinding halt.

Y'all crack me up. Trump is a Putin puppet but Russia didn't invade during his presidency because .... reasons. Anyone that can't see Ukraine as a giant money laundering operation needs to get off their medication. Biden has had his wallet lined from that region for a decade - yet somehow Trump is the evil one. One thing the Swamp agrees on is infinity Ukraine spending - John McCain has a huge boner in his grave for sure.

That Trump was a fvcking idiot for letting Fauci and Birx shut the country down. He also supports a new FBI office for that corrupt AF organization that has targeted the hell out of him which is pretty stupid. Lots of folks from both of those organizations belong in jail.

The most legitimate criticism of Trump is he spent too much. Reality is that might be the only reason they didn't assassinate his ass. He can't really be attacked for it b/c he is just as terrible as everyone else on that front.

"Some of" and "a portion of" are doing a lot of heavy lifting with those numbers. I'd be interested to see how much was actually put toward those studies, rather than just saying the total amount of the whole grant that helped fund them.

I don't like government spending but man I'm so tired of obvious misinformation being rubbed in my nose like I'm an idiot who isn't going think about anything once I see a picture of an Orangutan in lab equipment.

Any more than $0 for feline cardio is lunacy. Do you support lunacy? Nobody loses their funding or job, ever.

Not shocking that Rand Paul would highlight NIH spending this year - he is at war with Fauci.

Is Ukraine selling our missiles and ammo shells to a 3rd party? What are you even talking about? Lol

Probably the billions of dollars in financial aid.

The State Department says we've sent $44 billion in military aid. State Dept Source. The Council on Foreign Relations says we've provided (as of January) $26 billion in financial aid. CFR Source. AP Source

I presume he is referencing the financial aid.

Inconceivable! Never in a million years, unless NPR tells me otherwise.

And that is before the billions of "aid" North Dakota seems to think exists. We aren't just teleporting munitions to the front line, simp.

So where do you stand on feline cardio? lol

While I agree that is hyperbole, just imagine if our lawmakers stopped approving this crap. "Mind your pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves".

I don't necessarily disagree, and am in full agreement that work needs to be done by both sides on the deficit because spending is out of control. I just naturally don't like/trust tweets like this because I can smell the misinformation on it. It makes me feel stupid for agreeing with it because it's presented so cartoonishly.

I have no clue what the underlying point is for studying cat heart/lungs is, but I also recognize that I'm not a scientist and wouldn't know something scientifically useful if it bit me on the nose. For all I know this could be making fun of studying something on par with penicillin by saying "yOuRe TaXdOlLaRs WeRe SpEnT sTuDyInG mOldY bReAd!1!"

Why would the US pay for the study of moldy bread in London? I'm not sure how anyone argues NIH funding of foreign research doesn't deserve any post-pandemic scrutiny.

Yes - former ranking member of the Space and Aeronautics Committee wouldn't know "something scientifically useful if it bit her on the nose" either. These are the people cramming the line item pork in there at the behest of their handlers but its OK b/c Rand Paul is against it.
