My brothers in Christ, please pray for me. I’m about to turn my wife loose in a Ferrari and a Lambo at Homestead Miami.
Well… it went as good as expected. I could have been charged $200 for two wheels off the road, $300 for each foreign object hit, $500 for 4 wheels off the road. And with two cars …double the chances. My wife hit 135 in the Lambo and 150 mph in the Ferrari and no extra charges.
Lmao. LFG.

Ready for the Infinity series? Got a ways to go before F1. Pretty good for a novice. Bet it was fun.

Going to Italy in April with my grandfather, uncle, and brother for 10 days... We're going to our ancestral home in Calabria, but really don't think we will need to do that for more than 2-3 days. If anyone has recs in Calabria, they're more than welcomed. Doesn't seem the most touristy where we will be...

Does anyone have Cruise recommendations for family with young kids (6, 4, 1 - we may not bring 1)?

We've never been on a cruise, and all options on line sound good but curious if there are particular lines or ships that someone would recommend, or things to consider/look out for.

Thanks in advance.

My family has never done cruises, but supposedly there used to be very good deals if you can be flexible with your port of departure. I've also heard decent things about the Costco trips, but not from anyone who took kids.

Where are you located out of? Where would you want to depart from?

I've never been on a cruise and don't have any plans to, but having 3 boys similar in age, I'd never agree to bring them on one site to the simple fact that you're on the boat for the duration....

It's likely just a difference in how folks choose to spend their time. Now that our youngest is toilet trained, we started hitting the road last summer looking to enjoy the natural beauty this country of ours has to offer. So naturally we went to Kentucky first with Mammoth Cave national park as the main destination.

Different strokes my man.

I'm going to Sedona, AZ for a few days with the wife. Any recommendations on hikes, places to eat and drink? Is it worth it for a day trip to GCNP?

We'd port in Miami. I'm also not crazy about this but I've said no too many times to my wife. My recommendation would be domestic trip or all inclusive in one location.

We're not different, I think there are so many domestic trips that can be awesome. My favorite trip ever is still going to Glacier National right after they closed the west side and there were very few people. We did entire hikes without seeing a soul, which filled the soul. But like I said I've said no to cruise many times, and it's time to let it happen

We didn’t take our kids on our cruise but our ship was big enough that I didn’t really have to bother with kids. There is enough events for everyone on to do. It was a very good time. I would have to go back to our pictures to figure out the one location I would suggest not to go too though.

What cruise line? We're down to Disney or Royal Caribbean based on google searches, likely Caribbean. Seems like Carnival is a bit more party vibe

Been on many many Caribal cruises while they are fun and overall a soild cruise, Royal was just overall better with everything. Not sure how the newer mega ships Royal has are with 5000-7000 people onboard.

Been on both and R-Caribbean is great… fun comedy shows, bars etc. Disney was great with kids. Plus, the Disney shows were great and food was amazing. You really can’t go wrong either way.

Our was carnival is was a fun ship but not inappropriate for the kids. Now they do have later shows and that you could go to if you wanted better comedy. I never really saw anyone obviously drunk either.

The crazy Carnival cruises are normally the short cheap ones that are 3 or 4 days long.

If I was to cruise again (has been about 9 years) I would cruise to Alaska on Royal or Norwegian

We take a Royal Caribbean cruise every year when possible. They are amazing and highly recommendable. The customer service is outstanding and some of the best I've seen in any industry. Food and shows are great, and there is always something to do. They also own their own island in the Caribbean, "CocoCay" in the Bahamas.

This year we are going on the Alaskan cruise with RC. You will never regret going on a RC cruise. Truly amazing.

That's a long drive for a day trip if you're talking Grand Canyon (which itself merits a couple days)
Sedona is beautiful. Totally different experiences driving the south vs north roads... I'd say proof of God but Whiskyjack might ban me.
If you can, do the helicopter thing.

Did the Inside Passage back in kate 80's on Cunard Princess. First & only cruise so far and still recall it being fantastic. Good informative & fun stops in Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway.
Recommend.
My grandma did a small boat Alaskan cruise...maybe 160 pax...could get waaayy into fjords where the big ships can't- pics were amazing.

Fwiw, wife and I are about to start 2 years (maybe more) around the world on Monday.
London for a week, Italy 3-4 months, (Asti, Venice, Turin, Milan, Dolomites...who knows what else), art fairs in all those cities plus Basel, Switzerland...hiking Mt. Meru in Tanzania in August is all that's set so far...
If anyone has amazing recs for Africa: Kenya, Egypt, Madagascar, Tanzania, S. Africa...happy to receive.

I myself can't offer much of anything, but my buddy went to Tanzania two years ago and loved it. He also found a craft brewery there, Twiga Brewery, that he said was surprisingly good. So if you're into craft beer, might be worth checking.

My rec is to avoid Madagascar. Have a safe trip, and bring us back something nice.
