Will him sitting out due to transfer rules count as part of his 12-month suspension? He wasn't eligible to return till the 7th game of the 2016 season.

Alabama maybe. They seem to have a pretty relaxed PED policy.

This was rumored about a couple of months ago, but it went away. I always thought it was strange that he would do that, considering the success he had there and the way the coach seemingly had his back. I'd love to hear the story behind this, because there has to be more than meets the eye.

Kind of makes sense. Once Grier was suspended, the coaching staff banned him from all team activities till after the bowl.

Suspended QB Will Grier transferring from Florida: 3 things to know - CBSSports.com
Chip Patterson

Grier's next steps will include plenty of eligibility-related paper work. Since Grier's appeal was denied, he can't compete under NCAA rules until Oct. 12, 2016. Now he will have to enter the process of determining transfer eligibility, which can be equally frustrating for players looking to get back on the field. It is expected that he will have to serve the remainder of his suspension following his NCAA-mandated transfer year, meaning he may not be able to take the field until mid-October 2017.

Thanks. Do you think this save Sumlin's job?

I think he gets 2016 to make or break his time at A&M.

If he slips up, it's going to be over. Unless A&M falls into an Iowa-Ferentz situation where they don't want to buy him out. If I were running Aggieland, I'd be walking around the TexAgs meeting with a collection jar (it would be a big one) and buy him and out promote Chavis.

KYLER MURRAY TRANSFERRING TO OKLAHOMA
The former Texas A&M QB will join the Sooners in the spring semester, Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops announced today. Murray played in eight games with the Aggies and made three starts in his freshman season. Murray was the 2014-15 National Gatorade Football Player of the Year.

Purdue QB Austin Appleby transferring to Florida

Purdue could potentially have two QBs they recruited starting in the SEC next fall...

That speaks volumes about the player development (or lack thereof) going on in West Laffy.

Didn't know you could trade players in college! Maybe we can trade for a NT. Throw in an offensive lineman and a freshman to be named later.

Herman is doing some big things down there. One of my employees has a son on the team, and there is a huge buzz down there about the program.

I doubt it lasts long. Houston comes up with a decent team every now and then, but the coach gets courted and back they go.

Cousin Fertitta is going to have them in the Big-12 before you know it.

Since 1990 they've only won 10 games or more five times.
1990 10-1
2006 10-4
2009 10-4
2011 13-1
2015 13-1

I don't think Herman stays there long and when he does leave he leaves for the SEC or ACC. This is just a pit credentials.

Don't forget 1989, either. (9-2); that and a Heisman Trophy.

Houston has been damn consistent for the last 10 years though. 4 10-win seasons. I would take that in a heartbeat, for a school like them.
