Your too upset about there grammar.
I imagine you're head just exploded to.
Why would he be pissed at Alford? The osu job didnt come open until after signing day?
Totally speculating, but could Alford be pissed because we're brining in someone else (i.e. Quinn) to take LaFleur's place and take over the 0ffense and thereby bypassing Alford?
I agree we should give him a very nice raise if that was all it will take to keep him. I want to keep him badly. I'd be pissed as can be if it was a money issue only and ND refused to pay. But it's not the only thing. There's more at play here.
TBF, college football is a pretty cutthroat business. Another couple seasons like the last two and Kelly's gone. Or another season like 2012 and Kelly's gone to the NFL. Either way Alford and the rest are left looking for a new job. This isn't olden-days IBM where you work at one school 40 years and retire with a nice part and a watch on the company.
I wouldn't blame a coach for getting it while he can. But I might blame us for letting a good one go.
I don't want to put words into your mouth but when you say it's not only about money that seems to mean that money is playing some role. It's just frustrating that to me (and others) that ND doesn't step up and pay top dollar to their coaches. No, I don't have numbers on what they pay but from all indications it's pretty average.
The way ND has operated in the past doesn't make any long-term financial sense. As far as I can tell they have been paying two head coaches at the same time for the past 10 years (paid Tyrone through 2009 and Charlie until December of this year). Money talks in this business and they would have been much smarter to throw the bank at Urban in 2005 instead of hiring/firing/paying mediocre coaches.
Just really disappointed in Alford. Coaches leave, it happens. I just thought he stood for more than what OSU represents.
It is a punch in the gut, but the Irish will come out of this fine. I cannot lose faith in what we are doing under Kelly.
Not worried about recruiting. We have BVG, Denbrock, and Bob Elliot.
Per rivals, the interview has happened.
We're going to lose our primary recruiter for texas, florida, california, and Louisiana all in a weeks Time. Yay.
At least we have the Midwest, which urban snd Harbaugh will clean up.
If BVG will recruit Georgia hard, I will love that man.
For the record I was being facetious.
