He and Helfrich have had beef from the time he took over. Will be a great NFL player if given the chance.

He's a local icon out here but the more spotlight he's received the more he seems just a little off. He's basically just going to get ready for the draft. Not considering transfer.

I wanted this guy so bad a few years ago when we were recruiting him. He definitely didn't get the hype I felt he deserved.

Rivals had him as a 5 star and rated him the 26th best in the country. That's some hype. He was rated higher than A.Lynch.

I just don't see the big deal. Oregon has a high octane offense, and this guy has a grand total of 34 catches for 565 yards, and 12 TDs. His TD # is very good. But considering the number of points that Oregon scores, it really isn't all that outstanding. Beyond that, he averages less than 3 catches a game for less than 50 yards a game.

Are the UO boards going crazy like ours seem to do when a player transfers or decommits? lol

Not really. There is some rampant speculation as to why. Some saying he has a crack cocaine addicition. However, they have a very deep pool of talented skilled players and the freshman (Mundt) who was his replacement has done very well in his absence so from a performance perspective, not really.

he apparently had some cocaine/(steroid issues-rumor) in high school, sent home early on an official visit to ucla, then he had the twitter thing saying the sandy hook shootings were a govt conspiracy, didn't attend spring game due to some "issues" and he has been less than stellar in the classroom--guess he is smart but just doesn't want to attend or do the work, troubled childhood

found this on a forum: Mark me down as one of those who believes he is the next Aaron Hernandez. At minimum Titus Young.

guy could literally play anywhere on the field - LB, DE, TE, RB or WR. He's a chess piece and the comparisions to Hernandez (on the field) are legitimate in my book.

Also off the field. He is a head case. My Oregon friend says he has had a cocaine problem since he was about 14.

That would be amazing if true. Like WTF were his HS teachers/coaches doing to help him positively nevermind the people at Oregon.

But within the hulking, reluctant star still resides the anxiety of an often painful childhood he doesn't care to revisit. Dysfunctional home life. Little direction. Plenty of anger and frustration.

To those who know him well, it's a miracle he is attending college, let alone starring for the nation's No. 2 ranked team.

How Lyerla has made it this far is one aspect of his past he doesn't mind discussing. How through the help of coaches, teachers, counselors, administrators and parents of friends he overcame precarious pitfalls to stay in school, remain focused and live up to his potential.

Without the HilHi family, he's not sure where he would be today.

I hope this kid gets the help that he needs. He still has a bright future if he can get the off the field issues straightened out. I understand that there have always been concerns with him off the field. The kid needs someone to straighten out Colt the person so that Colt the player has a chance down the line. Prayers for sure

Getting arrested may be the best thing for him right now. Hopefully he can get some help and conquer his addiction. I hope he can turn his life around.

I know you put sarcastic font but the answer is yes there is a lawful possession of cocaine. Cocaine can be written as a prescription although very rare, it is possible.

Almost like marijuana but cocaine is used as an anesthetic.

Sounds like he would have been at USC instead except they got out-spent.

We will see if this brings an investigation. But I mean you can't trust Lylerla's word can you?

I would be surprised if the NCAA does anything, but you never know. Oregon has always reeked of violations to me. You don't go from an also ran to a title contender that quickly.
