He's actually the police officer who couldn't even keep up with a drunken Rees when Tommy took off to try and get away.

He's been holding that grudge ever since, because we all know about Tommy's mobility.

(Officer Irishman77 contends, to this day, that Rees actually gets FASTER when drunk, which is why he wasn't there when the alleged assault occurred)

He was up for UNC if Belichick didn't want it. It's how the show goes. He's 32 years old. His career trajectory isn't even written.

Uh huh. Kelly leaves and in a matter of a few months Rees lands Minchey, Hartman, and Carr. Nearly had Moore before he got cold feet and showed his cards. You're barking up the wrong tree.

Thought about this. While it would be a step down of sorts after being OC at Bama and ND, that would be one hell of a coaching tree to jump into and would be great on future resumes. Even if Bill ends up being washed up, I'm sure there's plenty Tommy could learn from him. It would be quite impressive to have coached under Kelly, Saban, and Bill.

I think a lot of people took my message as me firing a shot at TR. It's more that I have no idea what to expect from TR. We were told he was going to be an OC in the NFL and was unlikely to ever be at ND again because he was unlikely to return to college. Now he's interviewing for HC jobs in college. Just surprised he hasn't gotten an OC shot in the NFL, that he's interested in returning to college, and the very high quality of HC jobs that he's on the short list for, in that order.

I think it's too soon to be getting an NFL OC job maybe. Some guys have done it young, but usually they've been a HC at the college level first. I think interviewing for the NC job was about the money, and getting HC experience at a program that is setup decently for success.

Seems like the best way to be an NFL OC is the work your way up the ranks in the NFL, which he’s starting. Maybe he just ultimately wants to be the main guy or maybe he loves to get his thread bumped here and watch the same arguments being made about him.

Despite votes of confidence ref his football mind, I would imagine the leadership aspect, at such a young age, may likely be challenging for Rees.

Could still be the case. Not a lot of NFL OC running around who are in their early thirties.

He's 32 years old and just got to the NFL. His shot might still come. Saban's retirement caught a lot of people by surprise. As long as St. Nick draws breath and he's willing to endorse TR, TR is going to have a network.

He was third choice of a basketball school for a coaching vacancy. I don't know that any of us need to read a great deal into it and make it into anything deeper to ponder in serious depth.

He's also in Cleveland right now and, yeah, he's probably going to want to interview for other jobs.
