Cant find it in my soul to get on Tom anymore but I did notice how the other guy had his pom poms out for Purdue. I guess its just the natural progression of things when you are made to cover one team that you really don't like much every week. I wonder if they would mix it up with rotating people to keep it fresh/even.
When looking at it with outside eyes, it's a bit of a dull game.
I enjoy watching all these games, but it felt flat from the outset.
If I wasn't a fan of ND, I likely wouldn't watch this matchup.
The announcers are definitely coached up to sensationalize any angle,
and when it's Purdue v. ND, the expectation is (and should always be) a ND blowout.
Mayock is fine. His catch phrases are terrible, and he talks too much (often stating the obvious), but he has a few good insights here and there. Seemingly, the other commentators are there for Mayock, though Hammond is so disconnected at times, it's difficult to respect him professionally.
They need to infuse the commentary with some knowledgeable youth.
Darius Walker is an EXCELLENT example.
