USC, currently ranked #2, in a 49-10 win over Hawaii, currently ranked #121, askew the kick for PAT, and go for two (THREE TIMES) demonstrating their coach's rugged competativeness.
For all you agnostics out there, they MISS ALL THREE, again proving there is indeed a God.

the kicker just got out of jail, and they didnt have enough time to kick another injured player, i mean academically not eligble player, from the roster yet.

you know usc's motto, "our 75 is better than your 85."

this is the only thing I actually like about him. I like that he goes for 2 on extra points a lot, builds aggressive mentality within the team which is likely one of the reasons he does it. Many reasons not to like him, but for me this isn't one of them.

he is basically saying you are spouting non-sense and I agree with him.

what is non-sense about it? Because what is really nonsense is thinking that it is somehow wrong to go for 2 instead of kicking an extra point. Guy might be a dick, but going for 2 doesn't make him one. That's not nonsense, it's called reasoning. Kiffin is not the only coach who frequently does things like this, he's just the target of ND fans criticism. I just don't get the point of criticizing him for things like that, because it is, to use your word, "nonsense."

Maybe this is more your speed? I was commenting on the complete randomness of your comment. There is a general flow of conversation about Kiffin being a douche to the media and all of the sudden you come along and start spouting off about how you like the aggressive attitude his two point conversions give to USC.

To put it another way:
Let's imagine this thread was called "My John Deere broke down" and all the conversation was about fixing the engine for a John Deere and all of the sudden you commented "I really like the green paint on a Deere though, looks great, you can say whatever you want, but John Deere green is a good thing."

TL;DR: You posts read like the inane ramblings of small child.

Going for 2 when you're curb-stomping the opponent does indeed make him a d*ckhead. What if Oklahoma State went for 2 everytime they scored at td against Savannah State? They would have scored 96 points.

The original post was about Kiffin going for two frequently. Elboricua said he didn't mind this and explained why. Its a pretty simple train of thought to follow. I'd say you're the one that needs to get it together and stop "spouting off".

I actually agree with Elboricua.....It instills that "Killer instinct".

ND could use a bit of that in the last few years.

Oh, and none of you guys were calling for Kelly's head when he drove in another TD on Navy in the final couple of minutes?

If anything, according to your logic, Kelly is to be considered a bigger d*ckhead because he ran it up on a service academy.

Yeah. Thought so.

Scoring another TD, up by 30, with 30 seconds left on a service academy is also a "d*ckhead" move.

Funny that you guys don't even see your own hypocrisy.

Irishpat, you often have controversial arguments but you display good sense and discuss things instead of arguing and acting incredibly hostile to everyone.

In the opinion of everyone getting on to him (and myself), it doesn't matter that eboricua has a good point or opinion in this matter. He has been posting a bunch of random arguments in all the threads lately and acting incredibly rude to everyone. I don't think I have seen a single post of his not inciting a argument. He even implied in another thread that he thought the purpose of message boards was to argue over each others opinions and not worry about about having clear conversation. I would love to discuss things with him but he is getting increasingly difficult to talk with.

Thus you get everyone's response in this thread. Its not hypocrisy, its just called being extremely annoyed.

Mea culpa, I thought this was one of the other ten posts talking about Kiffin doing something that we hate. I retract my previous statements about him posting off topic, his post in here was alright and not worthy of argument. Him acting like a argumentative jerk around the board is something I stand by though.

Where did I say that ND should have ran that TD in? This thread is about Lane Kiffin, not Brian Kelly. You brought BK into the conversation, not me. Don't put words in people's mouths so you can call them hypocrites so you can justify your trolling.

I get it though, you're doing what you do best.

For reference, Chip Kelly goes for two frequently. Did it a few times in their first game of the season against Arkansas State early in the first half, including one after they had already broken into a big lead.

I agree with the above; there are many reasons to despise the vile human being that Lane Kiffin is, but two point conversions should be low priority on that list.

I'm sure you're right. I've definitely seen some interesting posting on his part, but he'll never get a chance to get it together if people are hammering him even when he makes reasonable posts.

Ah ha....but the point is, while I agree Kiffin is a douche, is that you cannot bash him for running up the score, when our own coach was kinda guilty of the same, right?

I don't mind any one in college football scoring as many points possible during a game.

Yeah, what I do best is make clowns like you look bad and you get your wittle fweelings hurt...

I was explaining that you hate Kiffin for the same thing Kelly did (Kelly was actually worse). I didn't attack anyone. I said you guys are being hypocrites on this particular issue. You guys get your butt hurt when someone points that out. Elboricua said nothing wrong.

You guys call everyone else "controversial" and being argumentitive....but you attacked him and me when we simply brought other points up. So who has the problem here??

Everyone hates Kiffin. Even his wife. But I don't hate him for going for two when our coach is punching in a TD with 30 seconds left, up by 30, on the service academy. That would be hypocrital. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

So he is the Michael Holley of this board? Holley (formerly of Around the Horn) is hosting an afternoon drive sports show in Boston nowadays, and one time I was listening and a caller called him out for an inconsistency in his argument, and his defense was that is the point of sports radio - to argue. Explained a lot about why I found him so intolerable. It wasn't just that he thought it, but that he was stupid enough to admit it and think it was OK. Haven't listened to that show since.

This post is wrong on so many levels. First, you are far better at making yourself look like a douchebag than you are at making others look bad. Even if you had a point here, the unnecessarily confrontational way you go about it is obnoxious.

I was explaining that you hate Kiffin for the same thing Kelly did (Kelly was actually worse). I didn't attack anyone. I said you guys are being hypocrites on this particular issue. You guys get your butt hurt when someone points that out. Elboricua said nothing wrong.

This is not even close to being true. Kelly was just playing the game to the end. If there is time on the clock you keep playing. To stop playing the game the way it was intended to be played is a bigger insult. Going for two is not really a normal way of playing the game. It is going out of your way to frantically grab every single point you can get. Calling a run play from the 12 yard line is not poor sportsmanship.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Says the guy going off on everyone that disagrees with him.

For the record, I don't really care what Lane Kiffin did and I wouldn't have commented on it if you hadn't gone off about it.

I guess we'll count this one for next week... Lane Kiffin, the douchiest person in maybe the entire known history of the world, ended his post practice press conference after a grand total of 29 seconds like a petulant child. Here's the video:

<object width="640" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/VFTJ_SdXm4g?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/VFTJ_SdXm4g?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Why did he do it? Because he was being asked a question about a player's participation in practice. Can't make this **** up.
