I thought I heard yesterday that there was a Father Ted item on the sleeve or something. I don't see it on the picture at the link, or am I missing it?

At the pointy end of the pennant on the sleeve are the initials TMH, for Theodore M. Hesburgh.

That's an awesome design. First time I've been compelled to order one.

The shirts are usually pretty ugly because they are over-ambitious with the graphics.

I love this one.

Best "The Shirt" in years.

Can't believe they're charging $18 now.

I kind of agree with you. The shirt last year felt...cheap. Maybe because it was part polyester, but it makes the shirt feel thinner and cheaper. The 100% all cotton shirts felt thick and well made, like they could last awhile.

I actually liked last years fabric. But i am also a fan of the "clima cool" shirts. Maybe its because im just a warm blooded individually anyways. But a lighter/thinner shirt is always good with me.

Definitely my favorite design ever.

Does 'The Shirt' ever come in long sleeves? It gets cold in AZ & CA come November.

In regards to price.... doesn't 100% of profit go to school charities? If so, $25 would be a steal.

This one would have been perfect in 2011, to go along with the throwback unis for the UTL game.

Help change the world, get your initials at the pointy end of a pennant.

This. No Italics.

I would have bet the farm that something significant, like a bust of Fr. Ted would have been on the shirt. Count me as disappointed and I'm not an alum.

No XXXL. Not even XXL for the lil guys. OK, now my disappointment is at another level.

On the bright side, that'w $23.50 I have to spend at Stone Brewing today. 3 more pints of Ruination for me courtesy of the bookstore.

The shirts are 60/40 cotton/poly btw.

One of my graphic designers helped design The Shirt this year. I feel fatherly proud of her haha.

But, I agree, it is the first design/look I have liked in the last few years. I mean who doesn't love a good vintage look?

Weird...I always remember seeing at least XXL and I thought XXXL physically in the bookstore in previous years (my last few have been XXL... :uhoh:

So the shirt was designed and the initial orders were produced before Fr. Ted passed. A lot goes into the shirt (need approvals on vendor, color, visuals from the Financial Management Board before the green light occurs). After Fr. Ted passed, the shirt was altered, and there is now something commemorating Fr. Ted on the shirt.

Considering what ND is about, it's rather shocking they don't go with a vintage look as their standard. This is the first shirt in a long time that is wearable outside of a couple fall Saturdays.

As someone who was in charge of designing & procuring marketing piece shirts for a huge media concern I can tell you, I could have gotten this thought to bought in 3 weeks even with their level of bureaucracy which I'm sure is at or above ND's machine.

I'm not an alum and have now real voice in this but Father Ted was probably the most influencial figure in The Region in my lifetime. The only person that comes close is Supreme Court Justice John Roberts. Count me as disappointed that the school didn't make it happen, they could have.

You would be surprised at the length and time that goes into getting things approved. Notre Dame is a brand and things can't be shorted. That leads to lawsuits.

I think the tribute to Father Ted was well done in this case too. I understand he is an influencial figure, but at the same time Notre Dame is about the whole vs one.

Yeah, I tend to wear them year round, so a thin shirt is like wearing almost nothing in Winter
