She didn't know about it for years. I was able to convince the officer that I bought it from some SC fan which then led to a lecture on ticket scalping.
Nice. When my buddy got kicked out I was the one who bought the tickets, so they took his ticket when they escorted him out and they used my info on file to send me the strongly worded letter lol.

Had something like this happen in my family. This all happened before I was born. Sometime in the 80s. Grandfather gave his ticket allotment to my uncle who brought his buddies. They snuck in a lot of mini liquor bottles and we're mixing drinks in the stadium. Usher caught them and kicked them out. My grandfather gets the letter from the University sometime in December, then proceeds to ream my uncle in front of the whole family Christmas. Haha Took a while before my uncle was able to get tickets again.

Fucking legend. Hope you didn’t drop the soap.
He definitely dropped the soap... and it was no accident.

My friend's dad has his official "Banned for Life" letter from ND framed and displayed prominently in his man cave.

They were at a taillgate in the early 2000's, and my friend's older brother (19 or 20 at the time) was drinking beer with the older guys. The ND police showed up, checked ID's, and banned my friend's dad for life for allowing his kid to drink.

He got a letter in the mail from ND shortly after that, and immediately had it framed lol.

He's been back a few times since then.

Thankfully they didn't use facial recognition back then.

It was a room used as a drunk tank. Long story short, I wound up with a ticket that was in the middle of the USC allotted seats. Called some fat cunt a fat cunt and was quickly introduced to an army of ushers and later the NDPD. It might have been worse than what I remember. I drank a lot that day.
I'm failing to see the problem.

That's ridiculous. Does Indiana not allow you to drink underage with parental supervision? My 9 year old gets sips from beer when we're at the local sports bar.

No, and you sir are a degenerate serving alcohol to a minor. A sip here and a sip there. Next thing you know, he'll be ordering a keg.

Not on campus at ND, unless something has radically changed...
We had to bring in the Meisterbrau cases by the pickup load.
Supposedly kegs were banned cuz one got dropped down the stairs and exploded, causing both damage and injury. I never believed it.

What were we talking about?

Good on him for framing it but honestly that’s way harsher enforcement than anything I ever saw at Notre Dame in the late 90s/early 2000s. Half the 21-year-olds in my dorm would’ve been banned for life under those rules.

Not just tailgates but every Friday they’d buy and we’d hike back from D2 with hockey bags full of beer. The authorities knew what was going on and happily looked the other way. What else are you supposed to do on a weekend in January?

That’s ridiculous. Banned from what? Stepping foot on campus? Attending university events and athletics?

I think it was just ND stadium, but the next time I'm over for one of their family parties, I'll snap a pic so everyone can see how crazy enforcement can be lol

It’s your time to save this program. Fire his ass.
He needs to do more than that. He needs to tell Admissions to stop being holier than thou and allow ND to bring in pretty much any undergrad transfer they want. It can't just be players 1 year out of HS and players close to getting their degrees from elite institutions (Riley Leonard-Duke, Brandon Joseph-NW). Stanford is a better school than ND and yet they were able to bring in the following undergrad transfers for this season:

-1 player who was 3 years out of HS from Washington
-2 players who were both 2 years out of HS, 1 from Washington and 1 from Northern Iowa

Stanford can do that but ND can't. That's pathetic.

Do they have a good reason for doing this? Seems illogical.

Originally planned as a dinner with ND lacrosse coach Kevin Corrigan, my local club hosted a game watch tonight followed by a speech and Q&A with the coach

One thing of note on revenue sharing:
Probably obvious, but Corrigan said only football and the two basketball teams are expected to receive a cut of the revenue sharing, with football probably taking 85% of the available revenue. This is simply because these are the only sports that make profit

Paraphrasing his answer to a question on why athletes should get paid and non-athlete students should not:
“If people wanted to watch a student do biology, then ESPN would show kids cutting open frogs. Revenue follows what people watch.”

Great night watching the Irish and listening to Corrigan….Notre Dame guy

PS: Putting this in Bevacqua thread as it pertains to revenue sharing
