Lucci and I are the only two west of the Mississippi, so if we ever have the scratch to facilitate a corporate in-person meeting, it definitely won't be at my house.
It would definitely be at a game, with a badass tailgate setup in the stadium lot, and the whole website would be invited...

To bend the knee and pay us tribute via various tailgate foods and beverages, of course.

Don't try the Cincinnati chili. Lion's source is the porta johns in Joyce lot.

I have developed a tolerance (immunity?) to Skyline's unpleasant side effects. I may even chug a can of Skyline on Sunday night when the Bengals win the Super Bowl.

On a personal note, one of the sadder days for me was when an old lacrosse message board + power rating site that had been around forever went under with no warning or notice. It was called "laxpower" and everyone had used it since the early 2000s before social media. It was great. It catered to everyone from youth players to angry HS parents that would talk shit at each other to current college players to old fogies long retired. It even had a fantasy lacrosse league.

So what happened? The owner sold it to a company that then tried to make an app (???) with a subscription service and all this other stuff. They went bankrupt in short order -- because no one wanted that shit -- and then one day the whole thing was just gone. Poof. You went to the site, and it said "laxpower has been shut down."

The replacement site that someone made after LaxPower went down -- FanLax -- absolutely sucks and has a fraction of the traffic of the original site. So one of my personal motivations for getting control of IE is just to make sure that it doesn't suffer the same fate as LaxPower and many others. Given the neglect from past owners, the whole mod team was pretty worried we could be heading that direction a year ago.

I ended up coming to IE back in 2011 under similar circumstances. I was on a small but tight ND board before that, can't even remember the name now. There weren't many of us, but it was still a decent active community. Ownership/admins were no where to be found though. One day went to the site and it had been hacked something awful, the whole board was just gone. Waited a few days, then a week, a month, and then one day the site was just a generic front and looked like it had been sold off or let go ("Go to <Irish Board> for all your home shopping needs!"). Something like that. I knew it was time to move on and found IE. After seeing what we were going through with the previous owners and lack of updates/support I felt like we were going down the same route unless something changed. It's refreshing to know we have invested leadership now.

Another low priority, but wonder if there's a work-around or something that I can do on my end.

When I click on any thread that has embedded tweets/video/etc., it takes me to the first new post, but then as the posts with embedded content populate, my page automatically scrolls down to make room for the larger content. If there are several pieces of embedded content, this can sometimes move me quite a bit. All this means is that I have to manually scroll down to find the first new post myself, but just wondering if there's a different way. As always, many thanks.

I've noticed this as well and it is fairly annoying, especially if there are a bunch of tweets that need to load. I can't say for sure there is something you/we can do about it at this point. A quick search on the support forums shows that xenforo's internal embed function is just a slower process than others. That is something that is out of our control. I will keep looking around and see if there are any suggestions out there.

I found IE my super senior year of college when I realized I kept leaving NDSU games early to get home to see how the Irish were doing.

Pretty sure I googled "notre dame forum" or something and clicked the right one. Still haven't been on the others to this day... not even to peruse.

And that's the story of how you all got stuck with me. Apologies.

Damn those google results rankings.

Is it just me, or is multi-quoting broken in Tapatalk?

Not necessarily asking for this change, but would going back to 20 posts per page minimize the jump when all of the embded twitter posts load and also result in faster loading?

It does appear to not be working. I'm assuming that would be on tapatalk's end as it's working here on both desktop/mobile.

I can try that. Maybe a happy medium of 30 posts per page? I didn't see an option for individuals to set their own posts per page preference.

That's fine with me. Under the old vbulletin sites I would always set my posts per page to 50. But from my personal perspective, the annoyance of trying to figure out which posts you have not read yet (because of the slow twitter loads) is a much bigger deal than my preference to see 50 posts on a page.

Switched it back to 30 for all users for the time being. I've found a paid add on available that will allow users to set their own preferences and will consider that while I look for some other options. Kind of hard to believe this isn't a stock option.

I know each of the new posts have a "New" right next to the post #. So I guess it's not a huge deal. I just never focused on that because most of the time, early on, it took me straight to the first unread post. Just need to make a habit of looking for that when my page "jumps"

Fellas, you should just be able to click the time of the post and it will take you to the newest post.

Yeah, we are aware. Again the problem is that it takes you to the newest post but if the page has to load the twitter posts .... by the time the page is fully loaded.... you can be 4 or 5 posts further up from where you should be.

I'm not quite following along here. Is the problem one and the same, @clashmore_mike ?

For me, tweets do not embed until I click on them AND when I click on first unread, it takes me to the first unread, then jumps up like 5 posts. Is this happening for you @ab2cmiller ?

Yes. If a forums page has no tweets, it takes you exactly to the right spot. If it has one tweet to fully load, it jumps up a little. If it is a forum page that has 5 or 6 tweets to load, you may end up 5 posts higher than the latest unread post.

Copy. Then yes, that is exactly what is happening for me.
