So Stanford will be one of the 5 ACC schools we play each year now?
ND's deal with Stanford ends in 2024.

SMU is fine on money. It’s a rich kid school in a rich kid neighborhood. They’d rather have games than big checks for awhile.SMU is foregoing conference revenue completely for 7 years, STA and Cal are getting a reduced rate.
Can't understand SMU agreeing to that, except if they think pre-existing major conference membership will help when the whole thing gets blown up and we're left with the B1G and SEC super conference. Because that might happen before they get any ACC money.
Not like they’re getting big checks right now as is anyways.SMU is fine on money. It’s a rich kid school in a rich kid neighborhood. They’d rather have games than big checks for awhile.
To be fair, that is the best program in Macon. This feels like the last normal season of college football there is ever going to be.
Not to worry. Might SEC Power Ole Miss takes on Mercer tomorrow. Soak it in.
Can you even say “remaining members” of a conference when there’s only two?Hoping the mountain west and the remaining pac merge. Would be a fun conference to watch
Sure. You can say it until there is only one. Then its "remaining member".Can you even say “remaining members” of a conference when there’s only two?
Dallas area Real Estate Brokers quickly buying ad space in all ACC markets.Ah yes, because that’s actually a solution /s
One thing we all know, is that a bunch of Cal fans live near Dallas, and want to see the diving team participate there.
At least when conferences were regional, students could go to events and see their team play a somewhat local opponent. Now, you wouldn’t even be able to see them enough times on campus…
The only thing it's good for is guaranteeing one West Coast game a year.Playing Stanford is boring. I'd be fine with that rivalry dying fast.
Pass. Join the Big 10, collect huge money, and play awesome games amongst PSU, OSU, Michigan, USC, Nebraska and others. Drop Stanford and add an OOC game in FL or Texas. The only thing it's good for is guaranteeing one West Coast game a year.
Well, if we joined the Big 10 we could still work it out to have one West Coast game a year. The old argument against joining a conference (not being able to play a national schedule) is dead now that the Big 10 and ACC are on the West Coast.Pass. I'm so over modern Independence. Good in theory, was great for a long time, but it isn't optimal anymore. Can't wait for Jack to take a hike.
If you think Jack is the one making the decisions driving ND's independence you're gonna hate Pete.Pass. Join the Big 10, collect huge money, and play awesome games amongst PSU, OSU, Michigan, USC, Nebraska and others. Drop Stanford and add an OOC game in FL or Texas.

Lost time on the inevitable right move is the biggest loss in business, etc.
Are you in the room during these discussions? If you think Jack is the one making the decisions driving ND's independence you're gonna hate Pete.
Jack's actually the guy who is preparing a nice landing spot for you in the post-NCAA, P2 B1G
Jack's also the guy who is preparing a nice landing spot for Jenkins/BOT in the ACC / post-NCAA Super Ivy.
Jack's also also the guy who's keeping ND independence viable while he pulls strings on EVERY move being made by P5 conferences so that ND is last on the board and gets the max contract no matter what Jenkin's successor tells Pete or his successor where ND is heading.
Jack's that guy. He's the best that ever was when it comes to THIS.

Hi Du Lac!Are you in the room during these discussions?
You never actually have anything to say. Can you tell me your 3 favorite parts of modern Independence?Don't worry guys, Lberry has thoughts! His opinion is just as valuable as everyone else's (unless you think logic, reason and cohesive thought aren't uniformly distributed in the population)
we're not truly independent, these deal sucks, but we're stuck. You never actually have anything to say. Can you tell me your 3 favorite parts of modern Independence?
Maybe right now (Even though we lost last season), but it's produced some big moments in the last 10 years.Playing Stanford is boring. I'd be fine with that rivalry dying fast.

Gets a little dusty at the 3:41 mark though...
