So who saw it and what did you think? I finally had time yesterday to see it.

It was good except they were wearing the '91 - to - present Sox hat in parts of the movie chronicling 1986-1989. Surprised that got by Ice Cube.

My 100 Miles and Running cassette was confiscated by mom when I was in 4th grade.

The correct hat in the '86 scene would have looked like this and obviously never would have happened. As usual, I had my Sox hat on and a 60 year old white lady said she liked my gangstaaaaa hat as we were walking out of the theater. I busted out laughing.

Just read that they are doing a sequel. Also, the kid who plays Tupac is going to be in John Singleton's Tupac movie.

Apparently the theatres are requesting security for the showings.

Saw it. Would recommend.

I wish that they actually talked more about Straight Outta Compton and F the Police and what not. To me, the movie seemed more about Eazy E, Ice Cube, and Dr Dre rather than NWA. MC Ren was upset about his role in the film and I don't blame him. He was a crucial member of the group and they barely gave him any credit.

DJ Yella in the movie was hilarious.

I also wonder how accurate the portrayal of Eazy E's Boyz N the Hood as his first time rapping is.

He wears a Sox hat in the movie? They always wore Raiders-Kings. I thought Dre wore the Sox around the Chronic.

That sucks about Ren. Loved his lyrics. I guess the feud was the primary issue with the group though. I will never forget the look on my parents face when they caught me listening to that.

Saw Straight Outta Compton being fairly oblivious to the whole story and really enjoyed it. What would a sequel entail? More about Suge, Tupac, Dre, and Snoop?

That's what I thought. Raiders and Kings.

Unless he meant that during the late 80s era of the movie Dre was wearing a Sox cap then that would be erroneous be cause it wasn't until much later he wore the Sox hat.

The movie starts out in 1986 with Eazy going to a dope house in a Sox cap. Also, up until Dre leaves NWA in the movie (1991), there are multiple scenes where the Sox hat is featured. The black Sox hat that they wear to this day was introduced after the '90 season.. Therefore, anyone wearing it before that in the movie would be historically incorrect.

As soon as the hat was out, everyone was wearing it.

Eazy E was awesome...one of the true all-time g's in the rap game. Dude was fearless and at one point was seriously going to kill Suge Knight but was talked out of it. Should have let him, the world would have been a much better place. His technical skills on the other hand were horrendous as a rapper, but damn dude had aome awesome charisma on the mic. His delivery and street cred behind it all were what created the allure IMO.

Suge Knight alluded to in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel that someone injected Eazy E with AIDS. Thoughts?

Vanilla Ice would've had a longer rap carter too. IIRC Suge held him off a balcony and threatened his life if he continued to rap.

I've read a lot about Suge the last few days and it baffles me how he had avoided jail time for most of his adult life. That is finally changing with these murder chargers, but don't think for a second that it was his first go around killing someone

That happens every day, it's called heroin addiction. He's an idiot if he thinks someone who wanted Eazy dead would go to such great lengths to kill him.

That reminds me of Kramer's plan to remove Silica Gel packets from the clothes of a store to spite the clerk years down the road.

I met Suge in Vegas about seven years back, he seemed cool enough then... Not nearly the gangsta killa you would have thought...

Hear you on that. Doubt that is how it went down, but here is the video.

Gotta wonder how things would have shaken out for NWA if

A. Jerry Heller didn't screw over Ice Cube essentially forcing him to go solo
B. If A, doesn't happen, Dr. Dre likely never leaves Ruthless for Death Row.
C. If Suge still starts Death Row and Eazy E still wants to murder Suge, gotta wonder how it would have went down if Heller didn't talk Eazy out of it. Eazy would have done it.
