Post #5 has an article that lists him as 5-11, 175.

Ah OK. Yeah, he's listed at 5'10" in all of his recruiting site profiles and is largely accepted to be a bit shy of that. Almost all corners (and WRs and every other position) add an inch or two onto their listed height. 0% chance that he is truly 5'11".

I love the kid. Add him to the roster of Russell, Luke, Butler, Watkins, 2015 will be one badass secondary on paper. I love this kids film and his style of play.

I was talking to my guy in Louisana, and there are questions why Bama and LSU didnt offer. It is a deep CB class this year, but a 1st team all state player from a national power is a little bit concerning. I did tell him that the only logical explanation was that Alexander had a 4.0 gpa or something haha.

But id take him all day. Not only is he talented, but getting 2 kids from LA is just huge for recruiting.

So you are saying Kinlaw is going to transfer by the beginning of the 2015 season?

If he's ~5'9, then why did the staff let that stud Cleveland CB leave South Bend without an offer and go directly to Michigan?

Diaco isn't here anymore, remember that. He was when the staff was deciding whether or not to offer Shaun Crawford.

Because he's a 2015 recruit and the staff didn't like him enough to offer at the moment for that class. Simply put, they just have some guys higher on their board. Michigan is all about the early recruiting... ND is slower out of the gate... not sure which is better. But there are a lot of Michigan fans complaining about how their highly rated guys of the past two classes largely appear to be "busts."

that's a very good way to put it....and i'm on board with you. it's a double edged sword and tricky business. take early commits or sit back and see whose better and fish for the bigger fish

I like the fact that we picked up guys like Williams, Hill, Sykes and Blankenship, who we would have probably overlooked if we recruited like the gypsies in Michigan.

the honey badger was the best DB i've seen since Charles Woodson was in college.

he's 5'9" so imo height is irrelevant and if were going to be more aggressive with our new DC we need more guys who can lock up 1 on 1

Did you see the National Championship game last night??? Height absolutely matters... with that said there is a complete skil set involved. You take the best that has the best total package.

This doesn't mean that height is irrelevant it just means it can be overcome

To be clear, in case my first post mislea, I REALLY want this kid in a Notre Dame jersey... he's exactly the kind of player that grows into a star.

A huge part of Mack Brown and UT's downfall was loading up on guys who killed it Junior year only to watch them fizzle out and then miss on late bloomers. Early commits are great, and there are some positions that are easy to evaluate early (you can't teach size on the OL), but you don't want to tie your own hands when guys come on strong their senior year.

Probably a stupid question: Which has stricter/more difficult eligibility requirements; ND or Stanford?

Stanford, to my knowledge, requires higher test scores and is less apt to make an occasional exception. Both require the same number of core courses... which is usually the biggest issue for someone, not scores.

BGIF, is this right?
