Is there any way to adjust the number on the jersey? I don't really want a JJB (#1) jersey
Unfortunately no. That's the only one that was on the site, and it looks like the stitched versions are sold out now too.

Now all that's left are the replica ones, which I imagine are the pressed numbers.

Coogan’s helmet Saturday just a completely different color than everyone else. Don’t understand how that happens

no it was painted like the game one just a different shade. I miss the days of 2012-2015 helmets and how they looked on TV

I thought they did the hydro dipping process now, no longer paint?
they do, painted was not the right word. But either way his helmet was a totally different shade. I’ve watched the game about 3 times and it sticks out very much to me.

Oh completely agree. I went and watched a few highlights and it’s night and day difference. Quality control issue I’d imagine.

I've actually noticed this in other games over the past few years as well. Always seems to be a couple players on offense or defense that has a slightly different shade of gold. My OCD just can't seem to not notice it. I am genuinely curious to understand how this happens.

Our uniform game has sucked for awhile. Bring back the Holtz era look.

Love this look, 2012-2015 hasn’t looked like this in a while

Natural grass won’t work in notre Dame unless the school is will to spend money on the field and a whole department/organization to maintain it. MSU has a grass field that looks great. But it’s also due to their funding and the incorporation of it in their agricultural program.

The field was so bad the year before we went to turf. I don't think our team has personally seen an uptick in lower body extremities since it's installation, but I'm just going from memory and not stats. I think turf has come a long way since the 70s, and supposedly they're working on some kind of hybrid called frankenturf that's a combination of both.

I like a grass field personally, but I also acknowledge that it's difficult to maintain in the northern Indiana climate. It takes a lot of work, and even then the results over the season can be ugly. There are options for grass today, like what Real Madrid has. They've got retractable fields and underground greenhouses to help protect it from the elements. That would be a shit ton of money though, and I doubt ND would pay for such a thing.

My biggest observation from ND switching to field turf is that it seems like players slip/slide a ton more. Guys are always loosing their footing, it’s like the field has a slick surface.

I wish they had grass, kept it well, and then let it grow out a few weeks before USC, or OSU, showed up.

I’ve never understood this line of thinking. Both teams have to play on the field, so it’s going to “slow down” ND players too.
There was a time that it made some sense. When the opposing team is much faster than you it is somewhat of an equalizer, but ND's team speed isn't a weakness anymore.

I haven't seen data on it but one of those things where perception may bully reality either way.

Every story about this references a statement made by the NFLPA last April showing there were higher rates on turf annually for the previous 6 years. I have looked but cannot find a peer-reviewed study proving their claims. There are no NFLPA data regarding any other factors or even methodology that determined turf was at fault.

There was a study sponsored by the NFL showing the opposite, but I haven't dug into it yet, but I'm not expecting much.

Not saying the NFLPA are right or wrong. I just hate how media and fans lap this shit up with no criticality at all.

Someone should look into NFL injury rates on Sundays. I bet those are sky-high.

I don’t know if there’s any real advantage there still. If their WRs run 4.4 and the tall grass slows them down to 4.5, it’s also going to slow down our 4.6 LBs to 4.7s. Their players are still .2s faster
