OSU fans have a very odd infatuation with Notre Dame football for some reason.

I'm feeling a little bad about my user name suddenly :) I'm a current ND grad student by the way. Just grew up in Ohio. ND is definitely numero uno.

Eliot seems like a great fit from that video. I admit I haven't seen too many spring practice videos in my life, but seems like a good technician and good with the kids. Was hoping he'd really get after them one time, but I suppose Diaco can play that role.

If I was a mod I would've already banned you.*

*$10 says you've already been banned before under another name.

PS. Why on earth do we have so many freaking Ohio State trolls here? It's so odd (and sad) to me that a team we don't even play trolls so hard.

I'm a big ND fan just like all of you guys, but have always been a Meyer fan going back to his days at Utah. Really like what Kelly is doing with program and I think he's the guy to turn it around.

He's actually another member of this board pretending to be this Urban Liar idiot, and he's actually responded to himself in another thread LOL. And that member needs to cut it out before he messes around and gets himself banned like, well, his alter ego just did...

Wasn't Trevor Robinson 6-5 at OG?

6-5 isn't towering in the interior at ND, not since Devine walked the sidelines. Dave Huffman won a NC ring as a 6-5 center for Devine. It was quite common during the Holtz era. Lou wasn't shy about playing BIG guys at OG.

Some 6-5 or bigger ND guards Tim Huffman in the late 70's, Mike Shiner 6-8 in '81 (played next to a 6-9 RT), Tom Thayer and Neil Maune '82, Larry Williams 6-6 in '84, Heffern in '85 and '86, Mirko Jurkovic '90 and '91, Todd Norman 6-6, '92 and '93, Mark Zataveski 6-6 in '93, Jeremy Akers in '94, Dusty Zeigler and Ryan Leahy in '95, Akers 6-6 and Rosenthal 6-7 in '96, Jerry Wisne 6-7 and Rosie in '97, Tim Ridder 6-7 and Wisne in '98, Jordan Black 6-6 in '01 ... lots of 6-5 and over OG's for 30 years.

Phil Steele listed 60 Top Guards in his magazine last year. The #1 OG was 6-8 and 5 of the Top 6 were 6-5 or bigger. Of his 60 guards over a 1/3 were 6-5 or taller.

BGIF, not trying to nitpick, Rosy played OT, for his 4 years in South Bend, and I can positively tell you, he was every bit of 6'8". My OT was 6'7", and Rosy was at least an inch taller. This, while being in HS.

You're not nitpicking. UND just doesn't agree with you.

From Mike Rosenthal UND Bio:

6-7, 300

"Three year starter for Irish on offensive line ended his career as first-team All-America pick ... also a tri-captain for Irish as senior in'98 ... started at strong tackle as senior after wroking as guard regular as sophomore and junior ... started three times as fillin at tackle way back in '95.
As a Senior: Notre Dame regular for '98 at offensive tackle... started all 12 games at strong tackle
As A Junior: Irish starter at strong offensive guard for '97 in all 13 games
As A Sophomore: Irish starter at right guard in seven games in '96 ... suffered broken ankle vs AF and did not play vs Navy, BC, PIT, or RU ... dislocated shoulder vs USC
As a Freshman: Played in each of last 10 regular season games for Irish in '95 ... starter for Irish at right offensive tackle vs OSU when Doughty idled with ankle problems

The ND All-Time Lineups list him as:
'95 LT backup 6-7, 305
'96 RG Starter 6-7, 302
'97 SG Starter 6-7, 310
'98 ST Starter 6-7, 300

You may recall in '96 the ND OLine struggled terribly, Holtz was battling with Moore who was opposed to the Blarney Offense. Moore wanted the triple option smash mouth football. After the OSU loss Holtz made the unusual move of publicly taking over coaching the OTs trying to get some pass protection. Against AF, ND's OLine was helpless against the 250 pound AF DLine and ND had something like 64 yds rushing. That was the game Rosy broke his ankle. You may also recall that season Rosy lined up to the right of Kascenski and to the left of Doughty. The left side of the line was Akers at G and Clevenger/Petitgout at LT. The week after the AF debacle Holtz was so incensed with the inept play of the OLine instead of playing Supersub Tim Ridder or Mueller, Rosy's backup at RG, Holtz started a true freshman DL, Brad William against Navy in Croke Park.

UND.com has the only cameras allowed at every practice, Jack is pretty clear with that at the start of each practice report. :)

247 had video of either the last practice or the one before, Nolan gets video everytime while others get video at most once a week for like 1/2 hour

Agreed. For a RS freshman, the kid oozes confident capability.

Yup, was just going to say the same thing. He looks really smooth for only being there for a week. Niklas might have a higher upside than Koyack, which is really saying something. What a freak.
