I have no right to second guess Kelly/Diaco or VT, Miami etc, so this is just stream-of-consciousness, BUT: his high school coach talked about how much further along Manning is than other HS DBs because of technique training, film work on tendencies, et al. He has trained with veteran defensive backs and even D????? [spelling?] Revis. Well, great as to attitude and accomplishment, but what does this say about his "ceiling" as a college DB?? Can it be that he doesn't have that much further to grow compared with other prospects?? I'll admit to ignorance, say that I liked his quick decision-making after the snap and his awareness, but I'm still wondering ....
And, like LAX, I wondered if we were looking at one of Kelly's famous broad "skill" category athletes here, and if we were seeing WR possibilities, but there is none of that in the highlight films.
