Snow and Tailgating Saturday...

How much will the snow currently accumulating in South Bend impact tailgating on Saturday??? I usually park and party in the White Lot before games, however concerned about the snow making the lot unusable. Does ND do some sort of snow removal beforehand (ha!) Just thinking that those fields will got torn to pieces and become quite nasty quick. I remember for the winter classic in Ann Arbor that the University banned parking on the golf course across from the stadium because of all the snow....would ND do something similar??

Turning to my IE brethren for information....taking my brother to see Mecca this weekend for the first time (ditched my NW tickets for Louisville back in September thinking it would be a better game) Trying to be proactive about the situation and not get caught on gameday........THANKS!!!

White Field was open last weekend after a foot of snow fell, I'd assume it will be open this Saturday too. If you're on Twitter, follow @gamedayND, they had updates on parking last week.

Wow, getting a touch personal there, eh?

Toughen up, chap.

Yeah, those west Chicago suburb trust fund babies are doing a lot of mountaineering on their "trek" from Alumni Hall to Debartolo for their econ class.

You do realize that North Face, along with Patagonia, are the biggest outdoor clothing manufactures in the world, right? While their stuff has became quite popular with yuppie wannabe's over the last decade or so, their culture is true outdoor apparel. Specifically mountaineering. You wont find many rock climbers that don't own one or the other. Same thing for fly fisherman (more so with the latter).

Yeah but your username has "accountant" in it and "accountant" doesn't meet Wooly's list of acceptably manly careers. It's a short list that includes lumberjack, auto union enforcer, recluse, and Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman.

I'm a commercial banker, so your assumption that I view career field as a reason for someone being a yuppie is incorrect. One of my best fishing partners is a CPA. He drives a truck and makes beef jerky.

Sounds like a cool guy. I'd drive a truck myself but I don't believe in debt and can't afford to pay cash for one at the moment. If you know anyone with a 1996 Ford Bronco laying around, send me a message.

Half fleece - Worn with other outdoor gear. Water resistant portion that keeps water and wind from the only portion of the coat that gets exposed. No reason to put anything but breathable material (ie fleece) on the sections that would be covered by exterior shell and bibs/waders. Popular for mountaineering, snowmobiling, fishing and hunting.

I call BS. You're a writer for the J. Peterman Company.

It's Vineyard Vines... and it's only part time, between skinning elk and widdling knife handles from their antlers.

I didn't even know what Bean Boots were until I went to college in Val-pa-rain-snow Windy-ana.

Just FYI...we are expecting a high of 73 and mostly sunny today. Tomorrow the temp will plummet to 71 and it will be partly cloudy.

It's Hail-Pour-Rain-Snow, Windy-ana.

I coined the phrase, Geography / Meteorology Dept, Kroenke Hall ''88-'89 in this guys class:

When I saw it's bastardized version on the cover of the school's mag with Ginger Zee... I shat myself.

I think I had him for Meteorology. Cool guy. One of my favorite classes. I lived in Alumni Hall my first year (I was a transfer) and then moved to the Delta Sig house. I was there '91 to '95. I went back a couple years ago and almost didn't recognize the campus.

More like...
That's really funny because I just bought this sweater for Christmas. Not joking.

Those pants though... yikes. The only pants I wear outside of work are Levis 559s and one pair of green button-fly 501s (but those are covered in paint stains).

There is some subtle battle of mind-power going on here, and it goes beyond the surface of the yuppie argument. Not sure if you guys are in love and putting on a show, or if you have deep-rooted issues (with each other).

Wooly has an open invitation to come by my house any time he likes. We'll throw a few logs on the fire and I'll mull some local cider with cinnamon sticks and whole cloves. He'll love the candles we keep in our dormer windows and the seasonal ornament hanging in the spotlight on the front door.

Wooly, LL Bean actually makes some decent, well-priced fly fishing gear.
