Was Polian actually a good ST coach or would he just be a better recruiting version of Booker?
Gotta be honest, I like Polian...but that is a less than spectacular list of ND players outside of a few.

LSU: Sources tell FootballScoop LSU has moved quickly to lock up Dave Aranda, offering an enhanced contract. LSU believes Aranda will execute the new contract shortly.
Way to sleep on it BK! Of course, BK will hire one of his old pals from his glory days like always.
Not trying to be a tough crowd, just being honest. That list of players had a handful of good guys, but the majority sucked.

Do you think he got in his car and picked out random people to recruit? The final word on who gets recruited was never his decision, he's just the recruiter.
There were more than a "handful of good guys" and the majority didn't suck.
The 24 wins and 25 losses between '07 and '10 seem to agree with me.
I disagree. The majority of those players were big time recruits, 4 and 5 star guys. Just because Anthony McDonald didn't do anything in college doesn't mean he sucked as a recruit. McDonald was a 4 star top 150 player.
I mean all the TE's he recruited were 4 or 5 stars and all ended up in the NFL. Rutland, Yeatman, Joseph D, Rudolph.
I just don't understand how you can make that statement.

Because outside of Jimmy Pickles, Wood, Rudolph and Allen...I barely remember those other guys rocking a gold helmet.
Jeeeeez. What does that have anything to do with what these kids were rated coming out of high school?
Just because some of them did not pan out in college doesn't mean they were not big time recruits that Polian did a great job getting.
Your logic is flawed.

I understand what your saying, and I'm not trying to be combative. I'm sure he was given a list and did a damn good job bringing the major players on that list in. All I'm saying is most of them dudes sucked...thats pretty much a fact, ask anyone outside of the ND family and they'd agree or at least say...who???
Your point was he was not a good recruiter. But he clearly was. Go lookup the rankings for the players listed.
Forgot to mention in previous post. Did you know that Konrad Ruland transferred to Stanford because he was behind Rudolph and Eifert? Did you also know he was a top150 player and made it to the NFL?
Taylor Dever was drafted and played a bit in the NFL also.

Haha...ya man, I know all that. I'm pretty hip on my ND football. I also know the majority of the players that were named on the list above sucked. If we are talking about what people have done on that list after ND....they all sucked. I'm including Rudolph because he burned me a few weeks in fantasy football.
About?
Ps...Clausen was all Chuck and Allen was all Rob Ionello

Who are the 5 top rated by position players? Not being a smart a$$, I can't remember.

Watched the Herman presser on Longhorn Network yesterday, looks like UT got a good one. Understands UT, the fanbase, alums, importance of high school football. Predicts championships. Coming at a perfect time...young team with tons of talent, in- state teams in disarray(TAMU, BU, TCU, TTU). Watch and see if he doesn't move quick to seal the borders and control in-state recruiting like Mack Brown did.
Last three coaches at UH...Briles, Sumlin, Herman.
