Sark and Locksley are the two bama staffers mentioned

Ok... Mitch is opening up the checkbook for facilities and a coach but is he gonna pay Tosh 2.0 money for assistants too? Mitch will tell him, here's $880k to match the Michigan guys... anything above that comes out of your $5M. Hire who ya want big spender.

Les has Saban to thank for his NC. Otherwise, he spent the majority of the remainder of his LSU tenure trying to stay out of his own way.

He won the title at LSU in year 3, after replacing Russell at QB, two starting WRs and starting safety and had to replace Jimbo Fisher at OC after he left. So no, Saban did not win the title for Les or LSU. And otherwise, he would get back to the NC game, losing a rematch against Bama, finishing the year with 1 L.

You should be banned from discussing non-ND football with such a crappy post.

Miles is decent coach, but I wouldn't rate him much higher than BK. Agree he has a national title, but the consensus from everyone is that he has under-performed given the talent he has to work with. His passing game is basically non-existent. He doesn't know how to develop QB's and has been previously mentioned, he's a horrible game manager. At least BK figured it out and no longer has to call a TO before the first play is run.

Look, I think Miles is an above-average coach. I think he's better than Kelly. But I don't blame LSU for moving on at all as he really did drop the ball with his OC hires/not firing decisions (sounds familiar). But my point was that his NC in year 3 had nothing to do with Saban. That was the LSU coaching staff and players winning it.

Sources: LSU courting FSU's Jimbo Fisher | wwltv.com

If I'm Jimbo, no way I'm leaving FSU for LSU. I can get just as much talent at FSU with a much easier schedule year in year out.

If you were Jimbo you would have a 7 year period to look back on and be able to compare Tallahassee to Baton Rouge. You'd also be able to sit down with your CPA and compare the zeros in your current check to the zeros in your LSU check.

Once you've got 7-8 figures in the bank, priorities change and you can pick your challenges from a position of security.

True. Reportedly, LSU is offering him an $800k raise. However, we should also keep in mind that Florida has no state income tax.

I imagine he has all the security he needs at FSU, and if I'm him I'm not taking the LSU gig until Saban retires haha

He's already second to Clemson in the ACC and you never know when Florida and Miami spring up again, both are capable. At LSU, he's no worse than #2 in the SEC.

Both are ridiculously easy jobs for him. I've never been to Baton Rouge. All I'll say about Tallahassee is it's not in my top 20 college towns. Not close.

What's his ties to LSU? Is it only that he was a DC there? Or is there more? If it's just that he was once a DC there, well he was once a HC of FSU, so I don't see that mattering at all.

Unless his father was a literal tiger and he has tiger blood flowing through him, there is no way in hell he leaves the protected FSU with its easier conference, low academic/University involvement, and hot bed of recruiting.

Second to Clemson only as of last year. FSU is ridiculously young and talented and will continue battling Clemson for the ACC. Look at the rest of the ACC vs the SEC and it's not even close. Better shot at being dominant every year at FSU.

Both are great jobs. I just don't see the pay raise being enough to offset the serious upgrade in difficulty of schedule.

Sagarin has LSU with the 10th Toughest Schedule this year and FSU with #13. Doesn't seem all that serious a difference in difficulty.

ALA has Sagarin's #12 AUB this week in the Iron Bowl and LSU has Sagarin's #17. Again, doens't seem all that serious a difference in difficulty.

For the same salary, say, $6 million, Jimbo would have about $190K more in his pocket in FL after Income Taxes. However other taxes would cut that down some. According to this site:

https://wallethub.com/edu/best-worst-states-to-be-a-taxpayer/2416/

The difference in total tax burden between the two states is in the order of 1% (FL lower with no income tax)

True, and read a lot of good but different opinions. SEC>ACC though and the state of FL has 3 teams to compete over in state talent. He could lock down the French State.

I say Jimbo fisher says no to LSU not because of $$$$ it's because his son Ethan and his Fanconi Anemia condition plus he was divorced and the fact that if he wants to take his 2 boys with him to baton rouge his ex wife would have to sign off on it. also isn't the doctor that specializes in FA in Tallahassee.

I do recall reading somewhere that his kid's doctor(s) is/are located in Tallahassee.

I hope Jimbo says no to LSU and they are left with no other option than BK.

The only way ND moves forward is for BK to become someone else's problem. I really believe that is what is going to happen too.

This comment is going to make a lot of people look foolish IMO.

Care to elaborate? You've got my attention.

I think if Kelly goes to LSU and is able to keep the defensive staff he will be competitive there.

Recruiting will be a little bit easier and LSU needs offense which he can provide. Again JMO.

Well... first of all, it has to happens before anyone can look like anything.

Secondly, BK has been at ND for seven years!!! That is an eternity in this day and age and this is the main reason why I think he won't be back next year. Its not to say that BK isnt a good coach... but after a while, everyone just needs a fresh start.

Look at BK's face in this picture from the beginning of his term at ND. Now compare that to what he looks like now... he looks like the emperor from Star Wars now with those big bags under his eyes.

I just think BK has done all he can do at ND. It doesnt mean he couldnt do more elsewhere... which might be more of an indictment against ND than it is about BK.

Dude...

Wait till you're 48 and see what happens on a yearly basis. I'm just two years into it and all kinds of sh!t is happening. By the time I'm BK's age (55) I'll be relegated to pulling 30 y/o milf's out of wine bars. Sucks getting old.

Les Miles is the worst clock manager in the all of college football.

He isn't an offensive minded coach and can't produce offense with on of the best running backs in the country.

Can recruit QB's but gets nothing out of them.

Not to mention you get him in front of a Mic and god deosn't even know whats going to come out of his mouth.

Change just one word in this post and I would swear you was talking about BK.

LSU isn't going to hire BK.

If Sumlin doesn't get going soon, he is going to be gone. Too much money being thrown around that Aggie program to be an 8-9 win team every year.
