My 82 year old grandfather is going to this game. Given Buckeyes fans' reputation and the fact that some drunk A hole Purdue fan tried to instigate a fight with him 8 years ago, I'm a bit concerned for his safety.

I don't blame you... since Browns fans and buckeye fans share circles I suffer them more than I would like and I can't believe the mentality their worst fans have.... crazy towns. Is anyone going with him??

ND fans have really lost a ton of swagger because we are all so battered by recent losses against top 5 opponents. Stringer Bell meme posted above is the way. ND wins by 10+ and the story will become OSU is falling off, ND isn't that great, NDs schedule isn't even good because they beat a washed OSU team. I'm on ND Moneyline BIG. And I will not tolerate any slander against this take. If you think we're losing come back Sep 4. Until then, winning energy is what we exude.

QQ for the squad - do we know for a fact that OSU's receiver room is a bunch of world-beaters? Obviously, Smith-Njigba - but playing in the slot tee's him up against our strength at safety. Are the other guys that good? Looking at their stats, MHJr had a good Rose Bowl but thats about it. Also was OSU run game really that great last year? Obviously functional but they have to deal with our front 7...

It just seems like this team is christened as an all time offense and it comes down to three guys. Also - great to be on the board, first time, long time

Their offensive line is probably one of the better groups in the country as well. Their LT Johnson is getting 1st round hype, their RT is massive and should get drafted too, Center is on Remington watch list. Their guards seem to be reliable, if unspectacular. They usually use their TE alot as an inline blocker, but that is one area without any standouts.

For the WRs other than Njigba, it's mostly projection but the other dudes have the star rankings and coaching to make to explain the expectations

Got it - didn't realize about the O-line. But I have to say, there is much more projection - both on offense and defense - behind the ohio state hype than I realized. That said, ton of projection for ND as well lol

tOSU's offense is going to be really freaking good. The lynchpin is their OL. If our DL can expose them and alter running lanes and pressure the QB, then they won't look as good.

The rest of the year tOSU is going to shred fools

They are ruthless. I was there in 95 ( I was 11) when they trounced us. Had grown men cussing at me and talking shit. Back then they hadn't won a Natty since 68. That was my come back every time. Unfortunately it's been longer for us. I hope your Grandpa is the lucky charm. He will be fine!

I just got shit talked today by a cart girl about this upcoming game. Apparently the "4 for 40" pitch at Ohio State is that if you really apply yourself you might someday get to mix a Bloody Mary for a Notre Dame alum on a golf course.

They also had Nebraska -17 against Northwestern.. that was so lopsided I thought I was missing something..

Easiest bet I’ve ever taken..

We’re going to cover this.. I have very little doubt of that. The W will be tough but I think it’ll be a close game..

Buchner, the OL & the three backs can run the ball against this D.. especially with elite blocking TEs.

Slow it down.. pound the rock.. we have a great kicker & punter to flip the field or grab 3..

If they sell out on the run we take the advantage.. yada yada..

We have the horses.. if they can execute.

No doubt. They’re double digit favorites in all their games this year. Of course, that’s subject to change.

My bro-in-law had to live in Cleveland for a few years. He’s a big SEC guy and couldn’t stand Buckeyes fans. I told him ”now u know how I feel about SEC fans” but I think OSU fans may be worse.

Weren’t the tackles both formerly guards who couldn’t excel at that position? Not saying that means they have a bad OL just heard on one of the pods where they had a lot of high-4/5 stars who haven’t lived up to their potential. The answer to that was OSU bringing in the former BC/UCLA OL Coach.

And David Pollack
Pollack in the past has been pretty fair to the Irish. While Rece Davis, Herbstreit, and our favorite scUM sucking friend Desmond Howard have dogged the Irish, Pollack often has told it like it is. I think someone even mentioned he wanted to play for the Irish or was favorable to us before landing at Georgia.

I posted this in the OSU betting thread, but thought I'd share for those that believe.

On Fox this morning Quinn said last night he spoke to someone "in the know" at OSU and there is concern about this game. I don't think they meant concern about covering the spread.

To be fair, he has. However, once he started at ESPN he seemed to rag on them all the time.

I think this all comes down to which OSU we get. If we get Oregon OSU, great. I watched the MSU 2021 game last night and that was scary. Looked like us playing Georgia Tech.

I know we all hope our DL will dominate, however, it is not like we are playing a trash offensive line and have a huge advantage there. In three different preseason publications, they had OSU as the #2 O Line unit in the country. I don't know if it is realistic to expect us to dominate. I kinda see that as a push with our d line (hopefully) and then it is between the skill players.

As far as receivers, they are good outside of their #1. They just had two first rounders starting in front of them. Heres' to hoping we can go in and steal one.

I'm really starting to think this is going to be Freeman's coming out party. I mean, what would be more poetic than achieving something in his 1st game that Kelly (and to be fair, any ND coach post-Holtz) struggled to do -- not only beat a top-5 team, but do it on the road...AT HIS ALMA MATER NO LESS!!! I think we cover. And I don't mean garbage time backdoor cover. I think this thing comes down to the last drive, one way or another. RESPECT will be put on ND's name Saturday night. It is written.

I watched the highlights from the Rose Bowl and if you want to see a QB who can hurt you even when you have great coverage, go watch that game. Utah had very good coverage on over half of their scoring drives. Those WRs were killing the secondary.

Hopefully tOSU's defense looks like the Rose Bowl defense because that was just awful.

If he wins, it's going to change everything. The story will be rewritten, the expectations will rise, the recruiting will improve, the trajectory of the program will change, and MF will be the hottest coach in the nation. He already comes off as a good dude that people want to be around, is the best recruiter in the country, likely the fittest, best dressed coach, and he's a young black guy, in a sport with a dearth of successful black head coaches. The implications of winning this game cannot be overstated. It would be absolutely insane. ND and MF are an easy bandwagon for people to support and a win would would be like pouring gasoline on what is already a recruiting fire.

I went back and watched the highlights of that game just now before my next meeting. Gross. 49-0 at halftime against the #7 team in the country at the time. And it didn't require a bunch of heroic plays. Pitch and catch all day.

Olave has some of the best hands/tracking I've ever seen. If he stays healthy, he's going to be a stud in the NFL.

Watched back the Rose Bowl game and i know he had like 17 tackles but Utah abused Tommy Eichenberg in the passing game. Tommy has got to go at him all day
