Everyone keep calm, BUT i'm going to guess Alabama commit DT Jeremiah Beaman. Numerous members of the staff have given him twitter follows recently.

I need a level headed opinion here. I think we will struggle defensively vs OSU by not getting to the QB leaving out DBs to contend with Harrison and Co. Can someone talk me out of it?
this is spot on, I was talking about this over the weekend after the game. We are going to need to generate some more pressure than we have been to date. Our defensive scheme will probably be a little more aggressive than it was vs. NC St given his scrambling ability, as they were spying him quite a bit to prevent big runs, but our pass rush has left a lot to be desired so far this year.

I liked what I saw from Liafau in Raleigh, generated a few pressures in blitz situations, going to need that to compliment the DL. I was watching Jean-Baptiste quite a bit on Saturday afternoon and he was getting bottled up against their RT for the most part. Need him to step up against this former team.

I know our DBs are outstanding, but we can't leave them on an island against that WR core. McCord needs to feel the pressure and feel like he's got to get the ball out in a hurry.

Ohio State has 2 more tune up games to get McCord (Or Brown) ready. I imagine they didn't want to show too many cards either, just like we haven't. That said...I feel like this is a must win game. Buckeyes have gotten too many over us going back to '95. We're about due for things to swing back our way.
We also need this game for our SOS, I don’t see Clemson being ranked by the time we play them. I believe they play FSU in two weeks.

McCord doesn't strike fear in me like the previous recent qbs Ohio St has had: Haskins, Fields, Stroud, etc. Know he has talent but just don't see it in relation to what they have recently had. What I've seen is yes he can complete passes. Not overly emotional nor athletic. A lot of dinking and dunking. If we are truly a title contender, we win this game.

I also really, truly believe that the Kevin Wilson loss for OSU was massive.

OSU wasn't the "wide open" passing attack we've seen the last few years until Wilson got there. Meyer didn't produce any first round WRs at OSU (he recruited Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave, but I think the Day staff gets credit for turning them into draft picks), and I don't believe he had a ton of highly-drafted WRs when he was at Florida, either.

Day was never the guy who threw the ball all over the field. He was an up-and-comer, yes, but his offenses were not known for prolific passing numbers. That didn't happen until Wilson arrived at OSU.

Notre Dame -34 against CMU
Ohio State -27.5 against WKY

Both home games against vastly inferior opponents.

Assuming CMU and WKY are roughly comparable (I honestly don’t know), this may be an early tell that OSU will no longer open at -7 in South Bend (this was the line a few weeks ago).

Hell, last week we scored more, on the road, in unfavorable weather conditions against a quality defense than OSU did at home against an FCS school.

Starting to believe…

Well, WKY is 14.6 points better than CMU per week 2 SP+. So all other things being equal and granting 3 points to the home team that puts ND at about +5 against OSU in South Bend. Super reductive but TIFWIW.

If you believe some power raters we might actually be a slight favorite at home.

I looked this morning just in case an early line came out because I'd love to grab ND at +7.5. Barring a loss to CMU I can't see ND getting a td and the hook for long. I could see it going all the way down to 3.5. That is if it doesn't open at like 5.5 or 4.5 already.

I honestly believe that if OSU wasn’t going to take the stadium over, so if it was a 95% ND crowd, night game, with a wild & rowdy crowd…ND would be able to get to McCord and ND could handle OSU the same way ND has handled talented USC teams at South Bend night games.
This is the one game I really wish ND fans didn’t give up tickets.

I have a bad feeling that there will be plenty of OSU fans.
