I wonder if the OSU staff is getting nervous.
I don't see how they couldn't after today. McCord literally looked like he was just going through the motions. Not that mobile at all and a lot of dink and dunk. Rare to see some down field passing. Seriously think Day may look at Brown soon. Know it's 1 game, but McCord did not impress nor show a ton of talent.I wonder if the OSU staff is getting nervous.
Ohio State has 2 more tune up games to get McCord (Or Brown) ready. I imagine they didn't want to show too many cards either, just like we haven't. That said...I feel like this is a must win game. Buckeyes have gotten too many over us going back to '95. We're about due for things to swing back our way.
If so it Day may be treating his nerves w/ food b/c he getting fatI wonder if the OSU staff is getting nervous.

OSU always looks great vs us.Doubtful. We have seen this play out before. They will be a well oiled machine by 9/23, half because that’s the way these things work, and half because screw us.

A win starts a new narrative. A loss continues the ND narrative post Holtz and unfortunately perfected by BK.Another half and half.
Half they prepare well and are ready consistently in big games
Half we poop the bed in big games
We really need this one. A win would light a fire brighter than a thousand suns, and could be the turning of the corner we have desperately been waiting for.

It is a bit bullshit that they got the Week 1 contest at home, while the game at our place is halfway through the season. Of course we were breaking in a new QB last year at their place too while their guy gets a bunch of tune up games to find his footing...but that part wasn't going to be a consideration when the matchup was made several years ago.We could have won this game if it was Week 1 again.
McCord will definitely be ready in a few weeks. He wasn’t yesterday.
Dems the breaks I guess. Buckle Up.

As a reminder, they promoted Hartline from WR coach to OC. So not only did they lose their stud QB, they lost Kevin Wilson and replaced him with their ace recruiter. I would have done the same in their shoes but this is also how you end up with Tee Martin or Tosh Lupoi driving the bus into a ditch.
The offense looking like crap might be a trend unless/until Day grabs the controls from him.
Michigan has beaten them handily two years in a row, though, at the end of the season. It is a bit bullshit that they got the Week 1 contest at home, while the game at our place is halfway through the season. Michigan has also had a cake walk through September and most of October both years. It's easy to get up for OSU when you only play one other good team all year in Penn State. Look how flat we came out against Marshall after the OSU game last season. When you're riding an easy wave for the first 2/3 of the season you get to feel pretty confidant by rivalry week.Michigan has beaten them handily two years in a row, though, at the end of the season.
No it isn'tBiggest home game since USC 2005
Yeah I think it has to be 2020 #4 ND v #1 Clemson. Sucks Covid ruined that crowd. No it isn't
I need a level headed opinion here. I think we will struggle defensively vs OSU by not getting to the QB leaving out DBs to contend with Harrison and Co. Can someone talk me out of it?Yeah, this is WAY bigger than Clemson '20, even if the crowd wasn't compromised by COVID.
It's hard for there to be any offseason build-up when you're contemplating whether or not the season is actually going to happen for much of it.
And while Clemson was a big deal back then, Ohio State is a blue-blood and one that we haven't beaten in decades. This isn't just a top 10 matchup, but one with massive implications both for CFP contention and regarding finally having one over a team that has been more successful than ND for decades now.
