Yeah, I'm not on the Dantoni train. I think he has done a lot with very little, but I wouldn't be jumping up and down if we signed him as our next HC.

1) BK has beaten Dantoni when our team was a lesser team. Last year was terrible, but it was terrible all the way around.

2) Dantoni did beat an Ohio State team that beat us, but under very different circumstances and with OSU play calling being downright terrible being one of them.

3) How quickly you all have forgotten the fact that in the biggest game of the year (the playoffs against Clemson) they got blown out. I think BK was better that year, plain and simple.

You guys can go stat crazy all you want, but I wouldn't be much happier with Dantoni running the show than I am now. I just don't think we would get much better.

Any good matchups to keep an eye on this week? Any educational film breakdowns for either team? This site used to be good for more than people b****ing about our coach.

In all seriousness though, is there a good place (here or elsewhere) that I can watch some good educational film breakdowns of ND? I love learning more of the intricacies of the game but I never seem to find that stuff here. I think I remember someone reposting a Texas film breakdown from shaggybevo (I think) after the 2015 opener that I loved. I think it would be awesome if we had a "Film Breakdown" thread where we could post and discuss game film from ND, our opponents, or even other offenses with novel concepts we wish the staff would adopt (like fullbacks!).

One foot down did a cool 3 part series on our defense. I would definitely recommend, it clarified a lot of what we are doing situationally.

I really can't stand late games...

Yeah, I wish it was one of those noon starts. I love getting up at 6am to prep the liver, catch some College Game Day and get ready for a 9am PST kick off.

Not

9am is for Cartoons & Lucky Charms.

To each their own... I like getting up, watching the game and then enjoying the rest of my day. I hate sitting around all day, pretending to care about the other games, but really just sweating the ND game. I find no matter what I do I just can't enjoy my Saturdays as much when ND is a later game.

Best game ever was that early morning start to the Navy game in 2012... wake up, game just started, watch it right from there. ND won and the rest of the day was wonderful.

ND football is meant to be viewed at 2:30 pm CST. Watch some premier league in the AM. Watch a bit of gameday. Find a couplr decent games during B1G time. Drink some beer, get psyched fot kickoff.

This is pretty much how my Saturdays go when ND has a 3:30 kickoff.

With me, I'm too Scottish, Male and Taurus to not be overly passionate, focused and stubborn about the things I care about. I've tried to work on it but I'm just wired that way... SOO, if ND plays late I can't focus on anything else or enjoy other games I'd normally enjoy, or focus on other things around the house, it honestly ruins my whole Saturday in terms of my mood and ability to relax. I honestly have trouble processing how a ND fan can sit around waiting all day and be at peace. We've all shared stories of our worst ND blowups, every single one of mine was during a night game. Just me, just being honest.

AM and early afternoon's a great time to mow your grass, trim your cacti, rake your rock lawn... or whatever arid landscaping you got going on over there. Take the shorties to a matinee and use up someone else's AC and then hook up with all your Gingers for the game. I'm 20 years into this leftcoast business and I'm still not used to 10am Bears games. No wonder you're a Browns fan. Now if the Angels would just move to Charlotte...

Say what?

This whole time I thought you were like a John Wayne/biker/cowboy/Gold's Gym conservative... and then you go and let slip you're a card carrying commie snowflake fan of the New World Order's Global Game.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!

Sorry if I interrupted your Univision game of the week. (Don't worry, once the wall is built, they can still broadcast over it.)

That was one of the greatest days ever. It was Labor Day weekend too. Got a buddy of mine to open his bar early (it was no-brainer for him when I asked), so started the 3 day weekend at 830 with coffee, eggs, bacon, sausage, and ND football, then had the rest of the day for other games, bars, and girls.

I'd love it if ND (and other decent teams too) had 900am kickoffs a few times a year. I guess that's pretty much the norm for y'all out west though. I'm jealous.

I do always think that this would be one of the worst things about moving away from the west coast. I love having games on pretty much all day long on weekends in the fall. It would be so strange to wake up and have to wait for a few hours for the 'early game' to start, then have to stay up past midnight to watch the late games... that ain't no kind of life... lol

That would be just you if you moved. People east of the Rockies don't wait up to watch PAC football. I'm not sure they even broadcast it into the CST and the EST yet.

Totally half kidding.

So I'd gain Celtic FC soccer (usually on in the very early AM here) but lose Pac 12 football......... ?

Is there no pleasing the sports gods on this stuff!?!?!?!

Yeah, but sometimes it's cool being out and about all day, then tuning in to those games that start at 9 and 930pm, and staying up to finish it.

Piggybacking off the ND-Navy game, I remember when usc and hawaii had a 1000pm kickoff on that first Thursday night. I think it was '10? At some point in the 2nd half (so after midnight CST, and a Thursday, no less), I noticed I was texting a buddy on the east coast and west coast...then realizing, "Damn, we sure do love watching football!"

Well if you're gonna watch soccer at least listen to Chelsea Dagger when celebrating.

But why would you pick the wimpy lil brother instead of Rangers?

I do love when ND is the early game (it used to seem like every ND Purdue game was an early game back in the day... LOVED Purdue games). Watch that and then just chill and drink through the rest of my Saturday watching the rest of the games, all day, literally until the last game ends and it's basically your normal time for bed... it's marvelous.

Ha, you always have to try to start shit with me don't you?? Celtic did do Chelsea Dagger for goals for a long while there... in fact I THINK they were one of, if not the very first, sports team anywhere to do it. They have been using Just Can't Get Enough for a few years now though.

Repped for your troubles. I'm almost positive they were at least a major team anyways. As a Hawks fan, i remember looking into it when they started using it. I have the Fratelli's CD, Costello... something, I can't remember. I figured the band was Italian but they are from Glasgow and fans of Celtic FC, that's why they used the song.

One other bit of useless info: '66 was a great year for the Celtic peoples. The world was treated to Celtic FC's Euro Cup Championship, yet another Irish National Championship and the birth of the pride & joy of the Scots-Irish people, the one and only Crusader.
