Right, the bigger issue is that there were two obvious penalties that could've been called besides delay of game, including the worst OPI I've ever seen. We had the play perfectly covered by a to-be NFL star and he gets completely taken out.

The fact that Brian Kelly lost to Florida State on that insane OPI call after previously losing to MSU on "Little Giants" where the refs were just like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ is proof that he is cursed.

Sadly, I believe this will be his legacy. He definitely has not been able to get out of his own way with some shit, but by and large, the amount of bad luck this guy has dealt with has reached and exceeded WTF levels.

He used up all his good juju on Pitt and Stanford in 2012.

Although a loss, our team definitely showed up for that FSU game in 2014, and the Clemson game in 2015.

So overall, I'd say they definitely show up for prime timers.

Yeah I am not really disagreeing, we definitely have shown up in primetime away games, but don't think we've actually won one after 2012.

edit: don't think Music City Bowl was primetime.

Damn! Forgot about the runt. I was glad to see his older brothers walk, though.

Anyone else going to East Lansing for this one? It's shaping up to be a nice day: 80s and sunny for tailgating with a sunset kickoff. I'm feeling like a pollyanna: 41-20 ND. Go Irish!

I assume MSU will just load the box and dare BW to beat them with the pass game since he only managed to throw for 96 yards against BC?

Sure hope BK worked a ton of passing practice in this week otherwise going to be another 19 -20 game.

I am going. I won't get there in time to do a lot of tailgating. But we will be up there for the game.

Dude...there's ALWAYS another Bullough...always! Word on the street is they are growing the next gen and adopting until those hesitate to the proper age to be Sparty fodder.

Really love this game the more I think about it. They're not Georgia, but they're not BC or Temple, either. You don't build much confidence or momentum beating Temple or BC, but a 2-0 MSU team on the road at prime time? That gives you confidence.

I love this game for BW too. We will not beat MSU if we simply run on every important play, and he'll be counted on to move the chains on important downs - and he'll get the opportunity to deliver. The defense can stop the run to a degree, so we'll have a good chance to win this without BW having to be a hero.

Just the perfect test for where we are at right now, IMO.

It'll potentially be good for his confidence throwing down field, too, because BK knows the best way to beat Dantonio is to attack MSU's coverage with frequent deep throws against their man-to-man.

Wimbush should be directed to throw those 50/50 balls deep without hesitation, which should allow ESB and Claypool to make some plays. If they connect on a few jump balls that DON'T require a perfectly accurate throw, Wimbush should still benefit from the confidence, allowing him throw accurately on different routes when needed.

BK also channeling his inner Jackie Moon in this presser, really emphasizing the Megaphone

Line started at ND -5 and has moved to ND -4.5. O/U of 54. Thinking of taking ND and the under.

-- If Notre Dame can't be successful in a flashy vertical offense, Kelly said, that's not what they'll run going forward. "We can't appease people in terms of what looks good as much as what we're going to be good at," Kelly said. "If running the football is what is going to be the common denominator for wins, then that's what we're doing."

He's been reading the forums.

It seems as though he is having a tough time with the game speed for passing.. Does BK give him more live action in practice going forward to start to get used to it more?

I'm not sure its every been publicly communicated, but most seem to believe its a 4 game suspension. If true, he's still out.
